Darjeeling Mary Ward Social Centre (DMWSC) successfully organized a two-day Barefoot Teachers' Training on 4th and 5th August 2026 at its centre. The training was facilitated by Ms. Gayatri Roy and Ms. Sarmistha Acharjee Guha from Kolkata Mary Ward Social Centre, who shared valuable insights on child-centred and inclusive teaching practices. DMWSC staff members and Tuition Learning Centre teachers actively participated, enhancing their knowledge, skills, and confidence to better support children's holistic development. On 30th July 2026, Darjeeling Mary Ward Social Centre (DMWSC), in collaboration with Sashastra Seema Bal, Ranidanga, observed World Day Against Trafficking in Persons at the Panitanki–Nepal border. Aligned with the theme “Trapped Behind Scams,” the programme raised awareness about deceptive recruitment, online fraud, and cross-border trafficking risks. Through poster campaigns and direct interaction with travellers, the initiative promoted safe migration, vigilance, and collective action to prevent human trafficking. On 29th July 2026, Darjeeling Mary Ward Social Centre (DMWSC) observed World Day Against Trafficking in Persons and through awareness campaigns at major transit and trafficking-prone locations across Siliguri, Siliguri Railway Station, Bihar More, Bagdogra, and Ghoshpukur. Reflecting this year’s theme, “Trapped Behind Scams,” the campaign highlighted how fraudulent job offers, fake promises, and online scams can lead to human trafficking. Through nukkad nataks (street plays), poster campaigns, and public interaction, DMWSC encouraged vigilance, safe migration, and informed decision-making.
