Hill's Community Siliguri

Today, a group of students led by Siddharth Tamang met with Shobha Siliguri S***a , Councillor of Ward No. 42 and Member-in-Council for Education and Cultural Affairs at the Siliguri Municipal Corporation.
The discussion focused on the concerns and needs of students from the Hills who are currently pursuing their studies in Siliguri. During the meeting, Shobha S***a Madam warmly assured the students that she will always stand by them and remain available whenever they need guidance, support, or any kind of assistance.
Her encouraging words and commitment have given the students a sense of confidence and reassurance that they have a guardian in the city who cares about their welfare and future.

TRAGIC: Agniveer Prayash Gurung from Bijanbari, Darjeeling No More 💔

We are deeply saddened to report the untimely demise of Agniveer Prayash Gurung from Lower Lama Gaon, Bijanbari, Darjeeling. As per Army sources, an Army vehicle of 6/1 Gorkha Rifles met with an accident near Junglibaba Mandir Road, Bagdogra.

Prayash, along with others, was rushed to Bengdubi Army Hospital, but sadly, he could not be saved.

Two other personnel — Nb Sub Tirth Bahadur Thapa and L/Nk Varun Thapa (driver) — were also injured in the incident.

Prayash was a former student of Vidya Jyoti Academy, Bijanbari and had recently joined the Agniveer ranks with pride and promise.

Our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the community.
May his soul rest in peace, and may his family find strength in this hour of sorrow. 🙏🕊️
