A survey was conducted across various parts of Barak Valley to understand the livelihood conditions of rural communities. The study focused on identifying primary sources of income, employment patterns, and the overall economic stability of households.
Data was collected through structured questionnaires and direct interactions with villagers, ensuring accurate and realistic insights. The findings revealed that agriculture is the main source of livelihood for most families, along with dependence on daily wage labor. However, income from these sources remains irregular and insufficient for many households.
The survey also highlighted the lack of diverse income opportunities and limited skill-based employment in rural areas. Overall, the study emphasizes the need to strengthen livelihood options and promote sustainable income-generating activities for rural communities in Barak Valley.
