On the occasion of World Day against Child Labour as the 2026 campaign is themed "Red Card to Child Labour: Fair play for children, decent work for adults."
The United Nations addresses the root economic causes of exploitation, emphasizing that protecting a child's right to learn and play relies heavily on providing sustainable, dignified livelihoods for their parents and guardians.
Let us all commit to a fair playing field—because when we guarantee stable, decent livelihoods for adults, we eliminate the root causes of child exploitation and show a decisive red card to child labor once and for all."
This World Day Against Child Labour, the Ministry of Labour & Employment stands united against child exploitation and reaffirms its commitment to protecting every child's right to education, safety and a brighter future.
If you witness any instance of child labour, report it through the Navjivan Portal at navjivan.labour.gov.in.
Together, let us ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.
