📍International Press Corps

At the 6th International Conference of Meghalaya MUN, the International Press Corps (IPC) operated as the vigilant eye and unflinching voice of accountability. Tasked with chronicling diplomacy in real time, correspondents moved beyond reportage to shape narratives, challenge narratives, and hold power to the pen. In every press conference and crisis update, delegates of the IPC embodied the journalistic pursuit of truth amidst complexity—where bias was a battleground, and clarity, a triumph. Their presence reminded all committees that diplomacy without scrutiny is diplomacy with.

📍United Nations Environment Assembly

At the 6th International Conference of Meghalaya MUN, the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) emerged as a chamber of urgency, resolve, and global responsibility. Over three days of impassioned debate and diplomatic rigor, delegates assumed the mantle of international stewards, navigating the complex intersections of environmental justice, sustainable development, and multilateral cooperation. Through negotiation and nuance, participants transcended national interests to champion a shared future—one where equity, resilience, and regeneration define humanity’s relationship with the planet. They did not merely simulate international environmental governance—they embodied its promise, reminding us that in the face of ecological collapse, dialogue must be bold, and leadership, uncompromising.

"Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's need, but not every man's greed."

📍Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Committee

At the 6th International Conference of Meghalaya MUN, the Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural Committee (SOCHUM) stood as a forum of conscience, conviction, and collective moral inquiry. Over three days of dialogue and deliberation, delegates became the voice of the voiceless—championing human rights, defending dignity, and confronting the challenges that test the soul of our global community. As resolutions took shape and ideologies clashed, the committee reflected the very essence of the UN’s human rights mandate: that peace is inseparable from justice, and freedom must extend beyond rhetoric into lived reality. This was not just a simulation of global human rights discourse—it was a reimagining of what the world could be, should voices, values, and vision align.

"To deny people their human rights is to challenge their very humanity."

📍Ad-Hoc Joint Parliamentary Committee

At the 6th International Conference of Meghalaya MUN, the Joint Parliamentary Committee stood as a forum of scrutiny, substance, and statesmanship. Over three days of intense inquiry and deliberation, delegates embodied the role of parliamentarians tasked with untangling the intricacies of national controversies and policy oversight. In this high-stakes simulation, investigation met ideology, and accountability was not a demand but a duty. Each line of questioning, each point of order, echoed the democratic principle that no institution is above examination. As participants probed deeper into the matters at hand, they didn’t just reenact legislative oversight — they reaffirmed its vital place in the architecture of Indian democracy.

"Constitution is not a mere lawyers' document, it is a vehicle of Life, and its spirit is always the spirit of Age."

📍All India Political Party Meet

Three days of fervent deliberation marked a turning point at the 6th International Conference of Meghalaya MUN, as the All India Political Parties Meet became a crucible for dialogue, dissent, and democratic dynamism. Delegates stepped into the shoes of political stalwarts, navigating the complex interplay of ideologies, ambitions, and national interest. With every argument and alliance, they mirrored the raw, unfiltered essence of Indian politics — where negotiation is power, and consensus, a hard-won triumph. In this arena of competing visions, the spirit of the republic was not only debated but redefined, as participants carried forward the enduring legacy of India’s political discourse with passion and purpose.

"Constitution is not a mere lawyers' document, it is a vehicle of Life, and its spirit is always the spirit of Age."

📍International Court of Justice

Three days of argument and arbitration carved into collective memory; the ICJ at the Meghalaya MUN 6th International Conference became a chamber of justice, where delegates stepped into the solemn robes of law and history. They weighed evidence against ethics, sovereignty against accountability, their arguments precise, their reasoning deliberate. In this court, every judgment echoed far beyond the walls — a pursuit of fairness in a world fraught with complexity. These proceedings now stand as a testament to the voices that dared to interpret law not as a shield of power, but as a promise of peace.

"Where there is no justice, there can be no peace."

📍United Nations Human Rights Council

Three days of deliberation left an indelible mark on memory; the UNHRC at the Meghalaya MUN 6th International Conference emerged as a crucible of conviction, where delegates confronted the pressing realities of human dignity, justice, and global accountability. They grappled with the fragile balance between national interest and universal rights, their speeches impassioned yet measured, their diplomacy both cautious and courageous. Within these walls, every statement held the weight of principle, and every pause reflected the gravity of responsibility. What remains now are echoes — of voices that rose to defend the voiceless, and of minds that dared to shape a more just world.

"To live, is to be human and to live with dignity, is to live with human rights."

📍United Nations Disarmament and International Security Committee

Three days of debate, distilled into memory; the UNSC at the Meghalaya MUN 6th International Conference became a theatre of urgency, where delegates stepped into the weight of history. They wrestled with the questions of war and peace, sovereignty and survival, their speeches both sharp and deliberate, their negotiations fragile yet necessary. In this chamber, every word was a gesture of power, every silence a reminder of responsibility. These pages of time now carry the echoes of their voices, voices that dared to deliberate on the fate of nations.

"In the council of nations, words are weapons, and silence is surrender."

Amidst the intensity of debates and the rigour of research, the Conference also gave space for something equally important, joy. Our Social Nights brought delegates together beyond the committee rooms, allowing them to know one another not only as delegates, but as friends.

These evenings reminded us that while Model UN sharpens the mind, it is also about the heart; about laughter, music, and the simple art of being present. To pause, to breathe, and to celebrate the little moments is as much a part of the MUN spirit as diplomacy and dialogue. After all, MUN is not just about resolutions; MUN is FUN.

"Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is relax." – Mark Black

Day One of the Meghalaya MUN 6th International Conference was marked by a series of expert sessions that enriched the journey of our delegates beyond measure. Experts from diverse fields; law, diplomacy, governance, journalism, social entrepreneurship, and humanitarian service shared not only their knowledge but also their lived experiences, bridging the gap between theory and practice. Their words became tools, their stories became lessons, and their insights became sparks that will guide three days of debates and deliberations in the committees.

We were honoured to be addressed by:

Dr. Andrew Simons, Commissioner & Secretary of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly (UNGA-3 & UNHRC).

Hasina Kharbhih, Founder of Impulse NGO Network and Impulse Social Enterprises (UNGA-3 SOCHUM & UNHRC).

Kaustav Paul, Senior Advocate, Meghalaya High Court (ICJ & Ad Hoc JPC).

Shri River O. Wallang, Rtd IFS (UNSC & UNGA DISEC).

Patricia Mukhim, Editor of The Shillong Times (International Press Corps).

Shankar Pandey, Advocate, High Court of Meghalaya (UNEA).

These sessions were conversations across generations, inspiring delegates to think deeply, debate responsibly, and act with conviction. We thank our speakers for making this day a resounding success, and for reminding us that ideas gain power when guided by experience.

"An expert is not someone who knows all the answers, but one who helps others ask better questions."
