The National Level Integrated Workshop on Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) and Self Defence organized by the The Bharat Scouts and Guides ,National Headquarters, New Delhi, hosted at the Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides State Headquarters, Shillong concluded today. The workshop started on the 1st September 2026 with 70 participants from across India attending this workshop to empower and educate them with crucial information on the challenges and need for shift in individuals to practice simple environmental actions in their daily lives to benefit the environment at large. Its core importance lies in shifting the climate change narrative from top-down government policy to bottom-up personal responsibility, transforming individuals into "Pro-Planet People. Shri. S. Syiem, Sr. Environment Engineer Meghalaya Pollution Control Board, graced the valedictory function as the Chief Guest in the esteemed presence of Shri. E.P. Kharbhih, IAS (retd) – Vice President, Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides and other dignitaries. Shri. S. Syiem in his address highlighted various pivotal points on the need for change in one’s personal lifestyle and behavioral changes to combat the environmental issues such as Climate change, water scarcity and on the menace of plastic. He further urged the participants to take urgent actions through this mission in protecting and preserving the fragile environment and to be advocates of change by adopting eco-friendly daily habits to lower our carbon footprints. The workshop also presented seven core themes aimed at promoting mindful resource usage and fostering sustainable practices in everyday life.
