We stand against violence because every woman and girl deserves to live without fear.
We observed the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. This is part of the 16 Days of Activism against gender based violence from 25th November to 10th December. Under the theme “Unite to end digital violence against all women and girls”, we came together to strengthen our collective voice for safety and equality.
The responsibility to create a safer present and future lies with us. The safety of women and girls is a shared duty for families, communities, and every person who chooses to speak up instead of staying silent.
Ambrosia from Faith Foundation opened the space with a clear message.
“Inequality still exists in our homes, our workplaces, and our society. Today we raise our voices against it.”
Iaimanda Ryngksai, NEN State Coordinator, reminded the community of shared responsibility.
“ Kam dei tang ka kam ing ka kam sem” Violence against women is a community issue.” She highlighted how gender based violence can be online, mental, physical, financial, and how its normalization often blinds survivors to their own suffering.
Lyverius Lyngdoh, Cluster Coordinator, added urgency.
“Gender based violence is disrupting the core of the family unit. We must work together to remove it.”
He also spoke about the growing risks of digital abuse against children and women.
Team members, Rilang and Samme carried the conversation forward by sharing practical Online Safety Tips. They explained the types of online abuse, how scams target individuals, and the steps every person can take to stay safe and informed.
Support is always available.
Cybercrime Helpline 1930 to report online fraud and digital crimes.
The gathering reminded us that prevention begins with awareness, accountability, and action.
Together we can UNITE. Together we can invest in a safer world for women and girls.
