The inspiration for Path to Creation evolves from a personal conviction through 18 years of working with wonderful promising youths and children falling into vulnerable situations due to various circumstances in their lives. We at Path to Creation, strive at building new starting points for the long term recovery and rehabilitation of children/youths. Through the pages of time, we began to reach out to the young community in general by being a white canvas where they can paint out their dreams and visions for a better tomorrow.

Path to Creation is a Registered Trust based in Shillong and works among the children and the youths, by giving them a platform to uplift and befriend their positive imagination, their passion and their unique potential. We provide various training programs to enhance their skills, to deal with peer pressure, to think out of the box and most importantly, to listen to them and if needed, guidance and counseling is given.
Path to Creation also take major steps to bridge the gap of adult and child/youth understanding by training adults (NGOs, Parents, Guardians) who deals with children on an everyday basis.
Our Objectives:
· An atmosphere dedicated to a melting pot of ideas to enhance creative thinking, arts, everyday solutions and group collaboration and communication among the youths and children with an aim to achieve great transformation in meeting the needs of the hour.
· Through our programs we tend to encourage participants to rediscover themselves (not as how the world sees them) on a journey of personal therapy or on a path of reviving a lost passion/dream. However our greatest goal is observing participants on many occasions, challenging themselves to live a better life by setting new goals and resolutions despite what ever has transpired in their lives which vary from disaster, conflict, physical violence, drug use , sexual abuse and family problems.
· Our work also involves interacting with adults, parents ,guardians and NGOs to develop listening/observation skills and the ability to counsel and talk about issues which are generally taken for granted or swept under the rug by our society.

Path to Creation has the following projects namely:
1. Training and Workshops:
· Leadership training, understanding children’s emotions, participatory learning story, teacher’s training, staffs of the NGOs, Youth workers, Volunteers and Students. We also guide youth and children to weave their own dream-catchers and dream-connectors.
· Children’s home (In Shillong and outside of Shillong) - we provide workshops on Leadership and Capacity Building.
2. You & I - Arts Café:
You & I - Arts Café – an “out of the box” learning hub dedicated to the youth - The café is a kaleidoscope of ideas, information exchange and social interaction which brings together various positive techniques and stories of achievements from around the world to encourage visions and dreams that would empower growth and development, in understanding one another and discovering more about oneself. This place also hosts seminars where resource persons and facilitators give presentations/activities to open up minds to the various things possible, especially focusing on the younger generation in molding their interests/passion and most importantly to challenge them to dream bolder.
You & I - Arts Café is the main project that we focused the most. The café was started on 18th January 2016. The main aim of the café is to generate employment to youth, it is also a space for youth. So far the café has generated employment to 12 un employment youth (dropout), 2 women, 3 admin and one volunteer. The cafe has a direct link with the farmers from the rural areas (Bhoi and Mawkyrwat) to supply agriculture produce like rosella, sticky rice, vegetables, potatoes, plants and tea (Shiah-krot).
Our cosy cafe is also a home to many art pieces and craft works coming from different artists and craftsmen across the city which are for sale, to further promote the local art scene in Shillong.
In the café various programs organized for youths, children. It is also a platform for budding artists such as singers, musicians, painters and giving opportunities for anyone to showcase their talents. The café makes the visitors to feel culture and through food, music and games.
Potential to Scale the café Project:
You & I – Arts Café will facilitate starting similar café in different states of the region by working with individuals/groups/organizations/institutions that are willing to take it forward. Currently, the idea of the café has been shared with a few organizations and expression of interest has been received from different states in the North East.
