Today, 8th May 2026, patient Lakshmi Nath Chakma from Madanrting was admitted to North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences.
When there was an urgent requirement for blood today, Evein Chakma, MLCSU Sports Secretary, stepped forward and donated blood to help save a life. His kind gesture is truly commendable.
May his act of humanity inspire more people to come forward and help others in times of need. A single blood donation can make a huge difference and give someone another chance at life

URGENT FINANCIAL SUPPORT APPEAL

On behalf of the Meghalaya Chakma Students’ Union (MLCSU), we humbly appeal to all kind-hearted individuals, organizations, and well-wishers to come forward and support Baby Chitti Sweety Chakma, an 8-month-old child who is bravely fighting a life-threatening heart condition.

She has been diagnosed with a serious congenital heart defect (Large VSD) and has already undergone critical treatment. Despite this, her condition remains serious, and she is currently under intensive care in the ICU.

She was initially treated at Civil Hospital, Aizawl, and later referred to BM Birla Heart Hospital, Kolkata for advanced care.

The family is facing severe financial hardship. While some government support has been received, medical expenses have already exceeded ₹3,00,000, and ICU costs range between ₹30,000–₹40,000 per day.

We sincerely request everyone to extend your generous support.
No contribution is too small — every donation can help save a precious life.

AICSU Condemns Malicious Vilification Campaign Against Its General Secretary

The All India Chakma Students’ Union (AICSU) has taken serious note of the ongoing malicious vilification campaign targeting its General Secretary, Dangu Ahimsak Chakma.

These attacks—ranging from defamatory posts to fabricated narratives—are not isolated incidents but reflect a coordinated attempt to discredit student leadership and weaken collective community efforts. Such actions undermine not only individuals but also the broader vision of unity, progress, and community-driven development.
It is deeply concerning that whenever AICSU and other Chakma community-based organisations undertake constructive initiatives for students and society, they are met with hostility if they do not align with the interests of a particular individual in India.

AICSU strongly condemns the ongoing malicious, defamatory, baseless, and maligning campaign against the General Secretary of the Union.

We call upon all concerned to rise above divisive tendencies and instead work collaboratively towards strengthening unity, supporting constructive initiatives, and advancing the collective welfare of the Chakma society.
