Two days ago, at the District Agricultural Fair organized by ATMA, Sheohar, Jaikali Kunvar Memorial Trust (JKMT) was honored with the First Prize for Innovation in Agriculture.

The award was received by Preeti Kumari of Bagmati Vidyapeeth, representing the collective efforts of our team in promoting organic farming, indigenous seed conservation, climate education, and rural ecopreneurship.

At our stall, we showcased 76 varieties of grains, traditional seeds, fresh vegetables, spices, and home-processed food products. A special highlight was the herbal gulal prepared by the children of Bagmati Vidyapeeth using flowers and leaves — reflecting ecological creativity in action.

We are grateful for the appreciation extended by the District Magistrate, District Agriculture Officer, ATMA officials, and the Senior Scientist from Krishi Vigyan Kendra.

This recognition strengthens our commitment to building sustainable, community-led agricultural systems rooted in soil, seeds, and climate awareness.
The journey continues.

A Day of Learning

On April 19, 2024, our protagonist set out for a day of discovery in their village. Plans for a meeting were delayed by a bike breakdown, quickly resolved with Robin Kumar's assistance.

Arriving at Bagmati Green University, they found Sony Kumari and Robin Kumar teaching children about nature's gifts and parental care. Inspired, our protagonist joined the discussion.

The children shared insights on fruits and seeds, underlining nature's importance. A trip to Tariyani market and a lesson in fish amino acid preparation showcased the value of hands-on learning.

Reflecting on the day, our protagonist pledged to share their newfound knowledge with fellow farmers. As dusk fell, children left, carrying seeds of wisdom. Our protagonist returned home, content and eager for what tomorrow holds.
