We are proud to share that Kiran Deshmukh, representing VAMP – India, was invited as a panelist by the World Health Organization (WHO) to speak on Civil Society and Innovative Funding.
She shared VAMP’s experience of sustaining the collective even in times when donor funding was withdrawn - through community resource pooling, ensuring uninterrupted access to condoms, and strengthening peer education.
*Her intervention underlined a critical point:*
_“Funding is important, but our health, safety and dignity cannot depend solely on it. The strength of the collective ensures that s*x workers’ rights, safety, and livelihoods are protected.”_
