ACE Foundation
ACE Foundation is a path-breaking initiative towards empowering poor and disadvantaged communities, who are organised into Self-Help Groups and their Federations across India. Driven by the philosophy of “Putting the Communities First and at the Centre” of development, the Confederation of SHG-Federations has been launched by over 50,000 women in Tamil Nadu. The Foundation was launched in the presence of StreeShakti Puraskar Chinnapillai, Padma Sri awardee of this year, in Salem on February, 09, 2019. It is truly a community owned, managed and governed institution poised to reach out to SHG Federations across India. Over 300,000 women and farmers are expected to join this Movement in the near future. Believing on the principles of Autonomy, Self-governance and People Centred Development, the ACE Foundation welcomes SHG Federations to join the network.
By joining the Network, the SHG Federations would get the following:
•Professional assistance to advance their development works •Share a common platform for voicing the needs and aspirations of the communities •Securing autonomy of SHG Federations by ensuring grassroots democracy •Exchange of learning mutually to build each other’s capacity
