Biodiversity Conservation Organisation from Salem, Tamilnadu.
We are involved in educating students and sensitising public on the need of nature conservation, collecting important data that are needed for developing conservation measures through periodic surveys along with Salem forest Department and WWF, also we are educating forest frontline staff and providing basic support materials to them through welfare initiatives.

Big Butterfly Month
பட்டாம்பூச்சி பற்றிய விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்தும் வகையில் இன்று நடந்த இயற்கை நடையில் 6 குழந்தைகள், 11 பெரியவர்கள் என 17 பேர் கலந்து கொண்டனர்.
நிகழ்வில் பட்டாம் பூச்சிகள் பற்றிய பல்வேறு தகவல்களை பேராசிரியர் இளவரசன், மற்றும் கார்த்திக் ஆகியோர் எடுத்துரைத்தார்கள்.
மொத்தம் 25 க்கும் மேற்பட்ட வகையான பட்டாம்பூச்சிகள் இனம் காணப்பட்டது.
நிகழ்வில் கலந்து கொண்ட அனைவக்கும் நன்றி.

Initially we started with photography as a hobby, on the course we met a lot of like minded friends who had passion for nature and went on to photograph a good list of Birds of Salem and made a small photo reference book out of it as a proof of our work and commitment.
Many well wishers appreciated our effort and guided us to work on nature conservation through photography as a medium to educate students, sensitise public on the need of conservation and make them involve in the process.
And finally, we formed a group and named it Salem Nature Society, started educating school children and public through photography expos, seminars and awareness programs. Also we involved with Salem forest department in collecting wildlife data through periodic wildlife surveys and nature walks.
We designed and made a pictorial guide on Common birds of Salem, for school children to encourage them to go out and to connect with nature, with the Support from The District Collector, Mrs Rohini and District Forest Officer, Mr A Periasamy.
We were the first NGO in Salem to conduct a district Bird and Butterfly survey in 2018; very first Mammal and Snake survey in 2019.
We are now strongly involved with various organisations like Tamilnadu Forest Department, World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), Botanical Survey of India, SACON, ZOO Outreach., to learn from them their expertise to continue our journey towards the conservation of Salem Forest Division and Eastern Ghats of India.
