SIIRD, IIT Roorkee Student's Initiative for Integrated Rural Development ,IIT Roorkee This model of rural development is one of its kinds.

SIIRD is an attempt to evolve a “Sustainable Development Model” in an identified village named
CHHARBA. Its uniqueness lies in the
voluntary use of student force for larger good of the society by synergising the efforts of
industry, academia, government and society. Progress of work under this project has made
significant impact on the society as is evident from the information in the later parts of this
document.
