BOOKING FOR INDIA 2025 CLOSES IN 1 MONTH!
Come join the most authentic, transformative and affordable trip to India out there
The intention of Travel with Karuna tours is to transform the mindset of mass tourism into travellers that dive deep into local cultures, food, languages and holidays, while enhancing the well-being of host communities. We do this by staying with families, instead of chain hotels, working alongside initiatives that empower locals and choose to travel in ways that leave the least environmental impact. We explore in ways that are beyond “tourist must see” spots and throw away the guide books leaving space for personal and community transformation

Womens Empowerment

Most societies have traditionally perceived women as being central to the family unit, therefore women have been unable to devote their undivided focus and efforts toward their own career growth, as they have been seen as responsible for managing households and being the primary caregivers. Gender inequality is an insidious problem, and it affects more than only women; it impacts families from one generation to the next. The challenge is to change centuries of oppression and inequality. And how do we do this? How can we guide, assist, help, do more? It is a question that truly keeps me up at night. With education, vocational skills and empowerment, women can do more to help themselves, their families and their communities, and in the process break the cycle of poverty. With the ability to generate income, women take on a whole new role. They are better able to control resources, they are able to influence decision-making and can bring about changes that have a lasting impact on their own well-being, their children, and their communities.
