Smarpit is a non-profit- voluntary organization registered under Society registration Act-21 of 1860. The name of the society is "Suryodya Education Society" which is also registered under 51 Disability Act, under 12AA in Income Tax and under 80-G of Income tax. This society was registered in April 2001 and after that it is serving the Mentally & Hearing handicapped children from the last six year
s. On the day of inauguration in students joined the school in various stages of retardation and deafness. Smarpit Special School, run by Suryodya Education Society offers a comprehensive programme which covers a range of activities and skills graded according to the age, ability and functional level of each child. They are self care activities, toilet habits, eating, dressing, grooming, communication skills socialization reading, writing, arithmetic, domestic skills recreational skills and safety measures, Vocational training such as art and craft, prepare envelops pot decorating, cooking, Greeting cards making and different type of candle making are given to the children above 18 years old. Some families have a disrooted view of disability many a disabled child is hidden from the sight. Parents are desperately looking for help to educate and rehabilitate such children. Smarpit offers this helps but insists that the involvement of parents is an essential factor in the project. We admit students of different categories irrespective of caste and creed.
