A celebration made more meaningful through compassion and care.

The 4th anniversary of Utkal Media Journalists Association became a truly special occasion as it was celebrated with the elderly residents of our Matrushakti Old Age Home, Rayagada.

Through this thoughtful initiative, our elders were not only provided with essential support like clothes and food, but were also surrounded by warmth, conversations, and the dignity they deserve.

The presence of respected guests, social leaders, and community members made the day even more memorable, highlighting the power of collective responsibility towards elderly care.

This event was a beautiful reminder that true celebration lies in sharing joy with those who need it most.

Our heartfelt gratitude to Utkal Media Journalists Association and everyone involved for making this day unforgettable for our elders.

Together, small acts of kindness create lasting impact.

Education is not a privilege, it is every child’s right.

Every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and build a better future. By spreading awareness and ensuring access to quality education, we can empower young minds and create stronger communities.

When we educate children, we empower generations.

We were honoured to host the Utkal media Media Journalists Association as they celebrated their 4th anniversary at our Matrushakti Old Age Home in Rayagada. On this special day, around 40 elderly residents were supported with clothes and food. But more than that, they were given time, attention, and respect.

The event was joined by respected guests from the district administration and social sector, who shared important thoughts on the role of media in society and raising the voice of rural communities. Moments like these remind us that care for the elderly is not just a responsibility, it is a collective duty.

We sincerely thank Utkal Media Journalists Association and all the guests for choosing to celebrate this meaningful day with our elders. Your support brings dignity, joy, and hope.

Small steps towards financial independence.

In Rugu sedibai village, 8 Self-Help Group (SHG) members opened their savings accounts at SBI Ramanaguda for the first time. With support from the bank’s team, they now have their own passbooks and access to formal banking. Around 35 members joined this activity- learning, asking questions, and taking a step forward together. This will help them start small businesses, save money safely, and access schemes like Lakhyapato Yojana for loans. Because when women have access to finance, they build stronger futures for their families. Shakti Org is working to expand this initiative to 24 villages, so more women can become financially independent.

In a country with over 140 million senior citizens, many are not just ageing, they are quietly disappearing into silence. Not because they have no stories. but because no one is there to listen.

At Shakti, we see this every day. And we also see something else- how one conversation can bring back a smile,
how one visit can make someone feel seen again.

This is not about charity. This is about connection. Because no one who spent their life giving should end up feeling forgotten.

❤️ Be there. Start a conversation. Change a life.

Shakti Organization organized an exposure visit for our team and progressive farmers to the Central Tuber Crops Research Institute (CTCRI), Bhubaneswar.

The day began with a classroom session led by Dr. Susanta Kumara Jata, Farm Superintendent at ICAR–CTCRI. He shared practical knowledge on the benefits of tuber crops, including their nutritional and medicinal value. Farmers actively participated, asking questions and sharing their experiences. This was followed by a field visit, where they learned directly from the ground, understanding cultivation methods, crop management, and best practices.

When farmers learn, they grow.
And when they grow, communities become stronger.

Sometimes, small changes create big impact

This simple bamboo structure is helping farmers grow better crops, reduce losses, and increase their income. At SHAKTI, we train farmers in sustainable techniques like this, because real change starts from the ground.

She never thought she could grow and sell her own vegetables. Today, she does both.

Sembati Kandagari, from a small village in Rayagada, once grew only a few crops like ragi, cotton and Arhar. Today, her land is full of vegetables like bitter gourd, tomato, pumpkin, cabbage, beetroot, corn, carrot etc.

Now, she feeds her family with fresh, nutritious food. And she also sells her produce in the local market in Raygada.

So far, she has earned around ₹7,000 in profit. She has also learned new farming techniques.

With the right support, change is possible. Shakti Org is working with farmers like Sembati to help them stand on their own feet.

Support small farmers. Support sustainable change.
