Ministry of Good Samaritan Our motto is to create sustainable and self-supportive communities. We raise the consciousness level of the people and establish community-based organization.

We facilitate people to identify their community issues and act upon to resolve those issues. Creating sustainable communities. Ministry of good Samaritan (MGS) is a non profit, non political, non government social voluntary organisation. It was founded by Dr. Amson Mallick in the year 2001. MGS is registered under the societies registration Act XXI of 1860 and registered under FCRA Act, 1976 as w

ell as registered 12 AA under I.T. Act, 1961. MGS office address is Gayatri Nagar 5th line, Rayagada -765001, Odisha, India. The main activities of MGS include women empowerment, livelihood, water, sanitation, health, education and irrigation projects. We establish a link between community people and Government as well as private agencies to access assistance, services and funds. We are quite active in providing awareness programs on health, sanitation, education, environment, etc. We also provide training for capacity building and creating community based organizations. MGS implemented a Participatory Human Development Process in Bhujabala. They identified many issues of the village, among them Poor road condition is one. They have no good road to the village. During the rainy season, the road gets muddy and slippery. It is very difficult for the children to go to school and people to walk on the road. With the help of MGS staff, one lady leader (Rashmita Tadingi) facilitating a meeting in Bhujabala. All village people are planning how to access the good road from the Government.

An Issue analysis and planning on poor housing conditions was conducted at Lelibadi on 17th May. There are 65 Households people affected in this issue. 44 participants attended the meeting and discussion was held on the causes and effects of the issue and planning was prepared.

A Problem Identification and Prioritization meeting was conducted at Bhujabala. During ground work, community people identified many issues as solutions or projects, but they lacked the knowledge and capability to identify and prioritize these issues collectively. The meeting was attended by 48 people, including MGS staff. The facilitator clarified the agenda, which was to identify community issues and prioritize them. The participants identified 17 community issues, and the facilitator helped restate them, which resulted in 13 issues being identified. The participants were then asked to prioritize these issues based on criteria such as urgency, number of affected families, simplicity, and presence of resource agency. A rating table was created based on these criteria, and the top three issues were identified as poor housing condition, poor road condition, and insufficient sources of water in farming fields.

Evaluation & Reflection Meeting in Lelibadi

In Lelibadi 46 people had no job card for MGNREGA work. On May 31st 2022, they conducted issue analysis and planning meeting with the help of MGS staff HDF Sudhir. According to the plan they mobilized many times to the agencies and accessed the job cards. On March 14th 2023, the Evaluation, Reflection & Planning (ERP) meeting on Job card was conducted at Lelibadi community. In that meeting, the participants who had mobilized with the Panchayat office shared their reflections and their whole experience of the mobilization with all the community people. Their reflections encouraged other community people to act together to resolve their community issues.

On March 13 an IAP meeting was conducted on the poor housing condition issue with 37 participants at Kuakhal village. A total of 27 household members are affected by this issue. In that meeting, the causes and effects of the poor housing issue were discussed and Planning was made for mobilization to the Panchayat office, Guma for submission of a request letter regarding access to the free housing fund under the Government free housing scheme for the destitute/ underprivileged.
