Nagasaki Day marks the anniversary of the atomic bombings that took place in Nagasaki on August 9, 1945, and this year 2022 will mark the 78th anniversary of the incident and will pay tribute to all those who lost their lives in the attack.

The day is to remind the world about the pain and suffering of victims of the attack and honour those who lost their lives.

Every year August 6 is observed as Hiroshima Day across the world to mark the atomic bombing of the Japanese cities during World War II and it is a plea of peace to all world powers to prevent such horrors from ever repeating.

On August 6,1945 an American aircraft, B-29 Bomber, dropped Little Boy on Hiroshima, reportedly killing 90,000 people instantly.

Today marks the 78th anniversary of one of the most devastating events in the history of mankind.
