We envision an India where people know their rights and have the determination to speak up for these rights, so that they attain total sustainability. Volunteers dedicate their time to one or more of the following causes: right to information, consumers’ rights, family counseling, sustainable agriculture, land reform, legal assistance. Other projects – SHG and Income generating programs, housing,
agriculture, naturopathy- are mainly concentrated in Kerala. KGVS relies on a vast network of volunteers whom we train and offer the support needed so that they can make a meaningful contribution in their own communities. In Pathanamtthita Dstrict of Kerala, we run a Family Counselling Center, a Service Providing Center and a Shelter Home for Women. These centers offer legal and psychological support to our beneficiaries. As part of or Income Generating Program, we support the creation of Self Help Groups as well as assist the citizens so that they can benefit of the welfare schemes available to them. In the area of consumers' rights and citizen's rights, we established Consumer Empowerment Clinics, Right to Information Clinics and Mediation & Mitigation Centers. Our centers and clinics are aimed at informing people on their rights and advising them when they face problems. We want citizens not only to know which are their rights, but equally important, to ask for these rights to be respected. Starting from December 2015, we will start our journey throughout India, with ERC India Yathra (Empowering Rural Consumers). The India Yathra will raise awareness among rural consumers regarding their rights. There is a huge need for citizens to know which are their rights and this is our way to address the problem of lack of information. Our objective is to reach 600 districts around India. A special page is dedicated to ERC India Yathra (ERCIndiaYathra).
