The students of Centre for Legal Aid Programme (CLAP) participated in the 3rd National Lok Adalat, 2025, held at the Ranchi District Court on 13th September. It was an enriching experience where they witnessed the real-time functioning of alternative dispute resolution and gained valuable practical insights into the working of our justice system.

As part of our field visit to Garu Village under the theme 'Sawal Swasth Ka', the CLAP team engaged with the community through nukkad natak, awareness surveys, and pamphlet sensitisation drives.
The initiative aimed to spark meaningful dialogue on health and well-being, reinforcing the importance of collective responsibility towards a healthier tomorrow.
Sometimes, the biggest changes begin with the smallest dialogues.

We are beyond thrilled to share a landmark achievement!

The Centre for Legal Aid Programme (CLAP) at National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi has been awarded Second Place in the MacJannet Prize for Global Citizenship 2025 — one of the most prestigious global honours for university-led civic engagement!

Conferred by the Talloires Network of Engaged Universities and the MacJannet Foundation, this recognition brings with it a grant of $7,500, and more importantly, global affirmation of CLAP’s unwavering dedication to justice, dignity, and empowerment for all.

From the locked cells of prisons to the remote corners of Jharkhand’s tribal villages — CLAP has walked with the unheard, stood by the forgotten, and worked relentlessly to bridge the gap between law and lives.

In doing so, NUSRL Ranchi now proudly becomes only the second National Law University in India, after NLSIU Bengaluru (2014), to earn this global recognition.

This moment belongs to every student, mentor, and community member who believed in change—and became the change. It is a reminder that passion backed by purpose can truly move mountains.

We express our deepest gratitude to our Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Ashok R. Patil and the entire NUSRL family for their constant encouragement and belief in our vision.
