Why do we need Aabhaar as a unified healthcare system? As per statistics and recent studies by independent sources like London School of Economics, Indian Healthcare Budget is nearly Rs. 34,448 crore, whereas the amount spent by Indian population only on different infections per year is to the tune of Rupees 69,000 crore approximately. In India nearly 42% of children are suffering with malnutritio
n. Nearly 17.2 lakh infants die in lack of proper medical attention annually and still only 43% of infants are immunized or receive proper vaccination. An average Indian family spends nearly Rs 997 per head and approximately Rs 8814 on family healthcare annually. At present in India less than 10% of population is covered by health insurance. So we are trying to unify our resources so that we can generate a better output. Our Objectives:
• Easy access to healthcare for all.
• Realising healthcare as our basic right, reduce the cost of healthcare services at delivery point.
• Eventually making healthcare free for all at delivery point by connecting every individual with proper “swasthya bima yojana”. How are we trying to achieve our objectives?
• Prepare a database of entire medical assets (Doctors, Hospitals, Pharmacies, Ambulances, Health Workers and Blood Banks) of our country, under one system.
• This database is being actively mapped on an interactive map which can guide you to your nearest health asset in case of an emergency. With route map and printable route guide.
• We will have a facility of booking doctor’s appointment online, which shall be in turn communicated to the concerned doctor.
• We will keep health records of each and every individual online free of charge, it will reduce the cost of vital tests being conducted again and again. Whenever a patient needs to be seen by a new doctor they can refer to his medical file online to find out about previous medication given and tests conducted along with the results. It can also be called as your online health monitor. This will provide patient’s mobility from place to place and even to a different country.
• The records for each and every individual will also contain information about their blood group so that in case of an emergency it can save time of administering the vital life support or make up for blood loss in case of an emergency.
• We have provided options of blogging online which can help medical practitioners share their views on various topics online, even patients can seek suggestions regarding their problems online by inviting people to comment on his blog.
• Inform and connect people with different health care schemes launched by the Government. At times if a state level scheme is doing well try to emulate it for the entire nation.
• The online portal is in English but translated version of the same is available in 7 Indian languages which are Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. We will be adding Punjabi, Marathi, Malayalam and Sanskrit very soon.
• We also realise that in rural India availability of conventional internet services is a rarity so we have a mobile version of the site available as well considering a larger pe*******on of mobiles in rural India these days. AABHAAR CARD SCHEME:
Its your national medical card, in the age where credit and debit cards are a fashion we have designed a very sleek Aabhaar Card, which can help you get discounts on all establishments who support our cause and where you will find a “we support Aabhaar” sticker near billing counter. The Aabhaar card holder can get a discount of minimum 10% on all the medical facilities or drugs availed at a supporting institution. We are going to add all BPL families and other worker groups to existing national health insurance schemes; however we are looking forward to a health insurance scheme for all. Future Plans:
• We are trying to connect with UIDAI for portability of information so that we can reach a majority of population in a very short span of time and provide them with the desired health benefits.
• Set up a nationwide toll free number call centre where people can call in case of an emergency and get immediate medical advice or can be guided to their nearest medical asset.
• Group SMS facility to group members of rare blood groups so that they can connect with each other in case of an emergency. Let’s help ourselves:
As this cause can benefit each and every one of us including yourself and me so we are looking for support at different levels and from each and every individual, if you think you fit anywhere in the chain kindly write to us any help would be greatly appreciated.
