We come from different cultures, languages, and beliefs, and that’s what makes India unique. If unity has to hold meaning today, let it show in how we include others, stand with one another, and choose connection over division. Happy National Unity Day!

This World Food Day, we NSS volunteers are called to mind of our motto: "Not Me, But You." For many, every day is a battle for food, and today invites us not to lofty speeches but to empathetic action. Food is dignity and hope, and it's our responsibility to try and tackle the hunger in sight, beginning with a willingness to share.

Our action can be modest but significant, including an extra meal in our bags, reducing wastage from our canteens, or conducting a small collection drive. These are not charitable acts, but acts of human solidarity.The genuine smile we receive in return is a powerful reminder of our shared humanity, and it is this direct, ground-level service that lies at the heart of our mission. Let us be the hands that serve and work together to make the slogan "food for all" a living reality.

“Be the change that you wish to see in the world.” – Mahatma Gandhi

Gandhi Jayanti, celebrated on 2nd October, marks the birth anniversary of the Father of our Nation. Gandhiji believed in the power of truth (Satya) and non-violence (Ahimsa), leading India’s freedom struggle through peaceful movements like Non-Cooperation, Civil Disobedience, and Quit India.

His principles of simplicity, unity, and harmony remain timeless, inspiring generations across the world. This day is also observed globally as the International Day of Non-Violence, reminding us of the strength of compassion.

NSS BIT Mesra wishes you a peaceful and inspiring Gandhi Jayanti.

And to such a guide, we offer our heartfelt reverence.

Prabhat Pheri – 15th August, Independence Day

On the morning of our 79th Independence Day, our NSS team and students of BIT Mesra came together for a vibrant Prabhat Pheri, celebrating the spirit of freedom, unity, and patriotism.

With slogans, tricolour flags, and enthusiastic participation, the campus echoed with the voices of young India marching towards a brighter future.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined and made this event truly memorable.

On this Independence Day we salute the heroes who, through their sacrifices, have bestowed upon us the power of liberty. Their courage was not just about winning freedom, it was definitely about a spirit that has become a culture and is driving our country forward.

Freedom is a duty that every individual is obliged to carry. It is a force that can bring us together in friendship and loyalty, enable us to be supportive of our communities, and also help us to design not only a powerful India but also one that is inclusive and humane.

As NSS, we hold a view that genuine patriotism is not merely in language, but also in action. Through this service, unity and compassion, we are endeavoring to create a stronger, more inclusive and self-reliant India.

Let us all commit ourselves to the progress of our country and to the honour of the tricolour which will be flying high and proud.
