The NSS WING of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University, Ranchi in Collaboration with Dental Institute, RIMS, Ranchi organized a Free Dental Screening and Oral Cancer Awareness Camp on 29th April 2024. The programme was presided over by Hon'ble Vice- Chancellor, Prof.(Dr.) Tapan Kumar Shandilya and the Guest Speakers were Dr.N.N.Singh, HOD, Department of Dental Pathology, Microbiology and Forensic Odontology, Dental Institute, RIMS, Ranchi and Dr. Amit Vasant Mahuli, Associate Professor, Dept. Of Public Health Dentistry, Dental Institute, RIMS, Ranchi. Approximately 300 students consulted the Doctors regarding Oral health and were made aware about the causes of Oral Cancer and how to prevent it.

NSS and NCC Unit of DSPMU, Ranchi organised the Swachta Abhiyaan on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti on 1st October 2023 from 8.30 AM onwards. Dr. Tapan Kumar Shandilya, Hon'ble Vice- Chancellor; Dr.Ganesh.C.Baskey, NCC In-charge, Dr.Shama Sonali, NSS Programme Officer and around 100 students of NSS and NCC Unit participated in the Cleanliness drive. The University Campus was made plastic free during the drive.

NSS was formally launched on 24th September, 1969, the birth centenary year of the Father of the Nation. Therefore, 24 September is celebrated every year as NSS Day ..Today NSS unit of Dr.Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University, Ranchi celebrated the 54th Foundation Day of NSS in the University Auditorium.The NSS Volunteers staged a play to create Awareness about the National Service Scheme and how it's a road to help the students to serve the nation and play an active role in the development of the Nation. A Kathak Dance performance, group songs and a tribal group dance were also part of the programme which was graced by Dr.Tapan Kumar Shandilya, Hon'ble VC, DSPMU, Dr.Abhay Krishna Singh, NSSPO, Dr. Vinay Bharat, Co-ordinator, ELL and Dr. Shama Sonali, NSSPO, DSPMU, Ranchi.
