JOB VACANCY: INDIAN CHEF
Restaurant Name: Spicey Herbs – Indian Speciality Restaurant
Location: Juba, South Sudan
Spicey Herbs, a premium Indian speciality restaurant in Juba, South Sudan, is looking for a skilled and experienced Indian Chef with strong knowledge of Indian, Chinese, and Tandoor cuisines. We are seeking a passionate professional who can deliver authentic taste, maintain high hygiene standards, and lead kitchen operations efficiently.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and cook authentic Indian, Chinese, and Tandoor dishes as per menu standards
Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
Handle tandoor operations including breads, kebabs, and grilled items
Plan menus and suggest new dishes based on guest preferences
Maintain food quality, hygiene, and safety standards at all times
Supervise kitchen staff and manage daily kitchen operations
Ensure proper storage, labeling, and FIFO practices
Control food cost, minimize wastage, and manage raw material usage
Coordinate with management for special events, promotions, and bulk orders
Ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Strong knowledge of North & South Indian cuisine
Good experience in Chinese cuisine (Indo-Chinese preferred)
Excellent hands-on experience with Tandoor cooking
Ability to work in a multicultural environment
Good communication and team leadership skills
Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively
Knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety standards
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
Minimum 5–8 years of professional experience as an Indian Chef
Prior experience in hotels or speciality restaurants preferred
Overseas or African country experience will be an added advantage
