While doing job in rajasthan i once visited a govt. Since my work was related with rural development i was anxious to visit the school to know how the village children are seeking education. School admission register was too long revealing the population of children in the school. When i entered the classrooms i saw only few students. Children hardly come to school and cent-percent attendance was
a beautiful dream. I tried to find the reason behind the absence of students. Teachers replied that they have tried their level best to make the strength of the class high but they failed. Teacher also complained that children never study at home . They are taught a lesson in the class but at home they hardly revise. They come next day with blank face and prove to be a dumb piece when questioned about the taught topic . These children when don't complete their homework they skip school as they are scared about the punishment . Condition is same for all the subjects and it applies to all the classes. Children coming to school are only the attendance seeker as they don't learn anything and it can be said that they are only travelers to the school visiting frequently. We tried to inquire about the children from their parents . Parents said that they are illiterate and thus cannot each their children. Now this was one of the major reason why children don't study at home . Children fail to get guidance at home regarding their subject. Therefore a system need to be established so that when children return from school they are guided under this system and their queries related to their homework can be solved. They are taught the techniques of how to learn,revise, how to concentrate and thus enjoy study. The student need to be taught about the extra curricular activities like painting drawing art and crafts including drama. At the same time p.t., yoga classes need to be organized. Children will be taken to the excursion for their recreation and enjoyment. This will refresh their mind for better studies. Two week we saw the difference and they learned a lot, their interest towards study also increased. Student who use skip school was the first one to call the tutorial teachers ,when we were late on a rainy day. Parents too were excited about our tutorial classes and they wanted us to continue . Certain teachers also appreciated our work and ask to carry on a big scale. Therefore we decided to form an NGO. The system will have its frame and model. The students will be divided into four groups ABCD
Two consecutive classes will form a group . Class 1 & 2 will form group D and thus they will be taught together as class 2 student need to learn 80% of class 1 , therefore both can be taught together. Same goes for other three groups i.e. C with class 3 & 4 , B with class 5 & 6 and A with class 7 & 8. Group C&D will have subjects of English, Hindi, maths, g.k. and computer and group A&B will have subjects of English,Hindi,maths,science, social studies and computer. Teachers will teach the student and will take the feedback . Test will be taken periodically to detect their performance and students will be awarded rank according to their performance . Toppers will be gifted. These awards and gifts will encourage the student to study. Vision -
We want to educate and develop our rural India. For this we need to educate parents regarding their child's future and convince them to send their children school daily and strictly. Children are the future of the nation . When they will study and achieve the education our nation will grow and develop faster . Rural area constitute a major part in the Indian map. If we neglect them soon our country will face dangerous consequences of illiteracy,poverty, etc.which give birth to Maoist creating huge problems in the country. For the progress of our country on a big scale we need to care for our rural people and their family . The support and expectations of everyone led us to make a firm decision of taking this project to a larger scale. Hence, we decided to form an NGO and replicated the above at a village in District Mainpuri in Uttar Pradesh. The result has been more than satisfying; we currently have around 250 children attending classes at the UP center. We are also absorbing the entire cost of education of the children who have lost their parents. We, at the moment, are running two centers and have already touched the lives of around 400 children.To take the project to a larger scale and for further development in education at rural areas, we would require school supplies like computers, dedicated space to conduct classes, books, stationary etc., for which we need your support.
