Kulgam Police Intensify Naka Checking on NHW Ahead of SANJY-2026
KULGAM, June 18 : In view of the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2026, Kulgam Police have intensified naka checking and security measures along the National Highway (NHW) passing through the district to ensure the safety and smooth movement of pilgrims.
Senior police officers supervised the checking operations at various strategic locations, with personnel conducting thorough inspections of vehicles, verification of documents, and frisking of suspicious persons. Special focus is being laid on maintaining heightened vigilance to prevent any untoward incident during the annual pilgrimage.
Officials said the enhanced security arrangements are part of a comprehensive strategy aimed at strengthening surveillance, maintaining law and order, and ensuring a secure environment for yatris and the general public.
Kulgam Police have appealed to commuters and residents to cooperate with security personnel during checking procedures and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station. The intensified naka checking drive will continue throughout the yatra period as part of the district’s overall security preparedness.(KNC)
