Child Marriage free Bharat Campaign held at Digdol Ramban.
District Child Protection Unit Ramban,Child Helpline in coordination with Roshani foundation conduct an Awareness Program at Digdol Ramban.
Under the supervision and directions of District Child Protection Officer Mr. Sahil Bagotra, an awareness programme on the prevention of child marriage was organized at Digdole Maroge, Ramban, in collaboration with Child Helpline Ramban and Roshni Foundation, Ramban.
The objective of the programme was to sensitize the local community about child marriage, its legal provisions, and its harmful social, medical, and psychological consequences, and to promote awareness regarding child protection laws.
Mr. Vikram Singh Raju, Legal-cum-Probation Officer, addressed the gathering and explained the legal consequences and provisions related to child marriage, emphasizing the role of community participation in prevention.
Mr. Mudasir Jaral, Project Coordinator, Childline, highlighted the medical and developmental risks associated with child marriage.
Ms. Tanveera Akhter, Counsellor, District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Ramban, spoke about the psychological and emotional impact of early marriage on children, particularly girls, including trauma, stress, and disruption of education.
Ms. Rosy Firdous, Protection Officer (Institutional Care), attended the programme and extended her support.
The programme was successfully organized through the dedicated efforts of Mr. Sanjeet Singh, Supervisor, Childline, who coordinated all arrangements and ensured smooth conduct of the programme.
Other participants , Ms. Nishu Drora Panchayat Secretary, GRS Sanjeev Rajwal and Anganwadi Worker digdole who actively supported the programme.
The programme concluded with an interactive session, during which community members were informed about reporting mechanisms, including Child Helpline 1098.
Overall, the programme was conducted successfully and contributed to enhancing awareness and strengthening community engagement towards the prevention of child marriage.
