First Photographic Record from Rajkot!
During a recent biodiversity survey in an untouched region of Rajkot, our camera traps captured something truly special โ€” the rare and elusive Indian Pangolin (Manis crassicaudata)!

Weโ€™re thrilled to share our published article documenting the first-ever photographic evidence of this species from Rajkot, Gujarat. This marks a significant milestone for local wildlife conservation and highlights the importance of protecting lesser-known habitats.

3rd May - on occasion of the "World Leopard Day", Wildlife and Nature Welfare Trust in collaboration with and Forest Department of Gujarat have organized the awareness session on "Human - Leopard Conflict and Mitigation" at H & H.B. Kotak Institute of Science. The program was a great success, thanks to and students.

On 18th April 2025, Responding to a reptile rescue call from Ishwar Waybridge, Rajkot WNWT deployed rescue team member Mr. Aum Agravat. Upon reaching at the rescue spot, our member examined the rescue spot, the snake was identified as Rat Snake (Ptyas mucosa) a non venomous snake.

The snake was later humanely restrained, bagged and relocated safely away from human proximity. Summer approaches more snakes taking refugee at colder place while we request you to consider and inform for any wildlife in distress.

After the rescue completion, an awareness been made for the workers at the toy factory to prevent snakebites.

Recently, on 14 /july/2024 was invited by the 'Continuum energy' company to deliver a lecture about snake identification and snake bite prevention and treatment , there are many ground workers who face interactions with little crawling creatures during monsoon and awareness is the best shield to protect ourselves and snakes !
