SAMAVESH Samavesh is a grassroots organisation making public systems work for marginalized youth through access to education, social security, and leadership.

Samavesh is an initiative working to make public systems truly accessible to those historically excluded. We operate at the intersection of social security, education, active citizenship, and grassroots leadership, building pathways that connect policy to people, and aspirations to real opportunities. Our core focus is mentoring students from low-income and marginalised backgrounds to access highe

r education, navigate complex scholarship systems, and secure their rightful place in colleges and universities across India and globally. At Samavesh, we believe justice is not an idea—it is access, dignity, and leadership made real in everyday life. Rooted in lived experience and led by local changemakers, our journey began in 2011 with a stark moment of injustice: a girl named Roshni was forced to drop out of school simply because she had started menstruating. What began as one girl’s struggle has grown into a collective movement—working across rural blocks, urban bastis, and public institutions to bridge the gap between rights promised and rights realized.

Constitution Day (2025) Celebrations at Samavesh

Today, on 26th November, we proudly celebrated Samvidhan Diwas the historic day when India adopted its Constitution under the visionary leadership of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.

Babasaheb inspired generations to believe in the power of education, equality, and constitutional rights. His life continues to remind us that true freedom is achieved when every individual especially those pushed to the margins gets dignity, opportunity, and justice.

At Samavesh, Babasaheb’s vision guides our mission every single day. His words “Be educated, be organized, be agitated” remain the foundation of our work with learners, community fellows, and grassroots leaders.

We organised a special learning session for our Samavesh Fellows on Values, Rights & Responsibilities, led by Sandeep Kamble, Samavesh Fellow, who is doing remarkable grassroots work.

During the session, Sandeep shared his reflections on how the Constitution is not just a legal document but a moral blueprint for social transformation. He reminded us that: “Every citizen must carry the Constitution in their mind and spirit not only in books. The true tribute to Babasaheb is ensuring rights reach the last person in society.”

It was deeply meaningful to hold space for dialogue and reflection with emerging leaders from communities who are shaping stories of change around them.

Their energy, honesty, and vision for transformation left us hopeful about the future of community-led development.

Each story shared in this circle carried courage, questions, and the quiet strength to build something better for themselves and for their communities.
