Dear Friends,

I hope you are doing well. I am excited to share some heartwarming updates from SANTI in Rajgangpur, Odisha. Your kindness and support continue to bring joy and learning to our children. Here’s what we’ve been up to:

Tailoring Training for a Brighter Future:
In April 2024, we started our 3rd batch of tailoring training. This program is currently empowering 24 unemployed girls, giving them valuable skills and hope for a better future. With the generous support of Dalmia Cement Bharat Ltd., these young women are gaining the knowledge and confidence needed to build sustainable livelihoods.

Celebrating Holi:
In March, we celebrated the colorful festival of Holi at our center. The children had a blast with a fun dance program. It was a day full of laughter, colors, and happy memories.

Birthday Joy:
In May, we celebrated the birthdays of Deepak and Nirali. It was a special time filled with excitement and love. Celebrating birthdays helps our children feel valued and loved.

Summer Learning:
During the summer break, Anirudh Samantray led remedial classes for our children. These classes helped them stay engaged and continue learning even during the holidays. Your support ensures our children keep growing and learning every day.

We are so grateful for your generosity. You are bringing smiles, education, and hope to these wonderful children. Thank you for being a part of the SANTI family.

With heartfelt Gratitudes,

Ashok Dandpat

SANTI Quarterly Update: Celebrations, Progress, and Gratitude

Dear Friends and Supporters,

As we wrap up another vibrant quarter at SANTI, I'm eager to share with you the milestones and memories we've created together—your unwavering support has truly turned our efforts into celebrations of growth and community spirit.

At the SANTI Child Care Center, the air was filled with patriotic fervor as the kids celebrated Republic Day. They delighted in a music chair competition, showing off the joy that your kindness brings. Birthdays for Dinesh, Xemasini, and Abjit, made extra special with Purva and her family, reminded us all of the deep connections your support nurtures.

An unforgettable moment this quarter was the historic commencement of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Our children, brimming with happiness and unity, were part of this cultural pride—a beautiful expression made possible by your generosity.

In our efforts to empower through education, the Child Labour Elimination Vocational Training (CLVT) program proudly completed its 2nd batch of tailoring training, with the next group eager to start in April. We also marked World Oral Health Day at the SANTI orphanage in Ranibandh, providing 24 children with screenings, treatments, and invaluable knowledge on oral health, guided by Dr. Soumendra Lenka from CHC Rajgangpur.

However, our journey has also faced challenges. The construction of the SANTI building is on hold due to fund shortages. Yet, this hasn't slowed our dedication. The building stands as a symbol of what we can achieve together, already hosting events and training that bring joy and learning to our community.

Each step forward, each celebration, and each challenge overcome is a testament to the power of community. Your support is not just a donation; it's an investment in a future where every child and community member can achieve their full potential.

Thank you for being a beacon of hope and for partnering with us in this beautiful journey. Here's to many more quarters of making a tangible difference together.

With heartfelt thanks and anticipation for the future,

Ashok Dandpat

SANTI: A Hope - Quarterly Update

Dear Friends and Supporters,

I am thrilled to share the inspiring journey we've embarked upon this quarter. From celebrating the spirit of independence to empowering women through skill development, each step has been a testament to our commitment to nurturing and uplifting our community.

Celebrating Achievements and Festivals

Our children have shown remarkable talent and spirit, shining bright in various competitions during the Independence Day celebrations. Boys like Sukra, Daniel, and Rahul displayed their athletic prowess, while girls like Kshymasir and Payal excelled in events, showcasing their determination and spirit. Not just in sports, our children's creativity was also on display, with Basudev and Arman winning accolades in drawing.

The festive season brought joy and cultural richness to our premises. We celebrated 'Raksha Bandhan', symbolizing the bond between siblings, and 'Janmastami', reminding us of Lord Krishna's wisdom that everything happens for a reason. The 'Diwali' festival was a spectacle of lights, signifying the triumph of good over evil.

Empowering Women through Skills Development

Our Women's Self-Help Group has achieved a significant milestone, completing 874 pairs of uniforms for Dalmia Cement Bharat Ltd. This accomplishment not only provided financial empowerment but also instilled a sense of pride and independence in our women. The ongoing tailoring training promises more success stories like this, as we prepare for the completion of the second batch in January 2024.

Progress in Infrastructure

The construction of the SANTI Child Care Center building continues, though we face challenges in completing the pending work which includes the veranda, staircases, bathrooms, and septic tank. Despite these hurdles, the partially completed building is already serving as a valuable resource. It has been instrumental in facilitating the Women's Self-Help Group's sewing projects for Dalmia Cement Bharat Ltd. This not only underscores the potential of the completed facility but also highlights the urgent need for additional funding to realize this vision.

A Call to Action

As we look back at these achievements, we also look forward with hope and determination. The progress we've made is not just ours – it belongs to every child who smiles a little brighter, every woman who stands a little taller, and every community member whose life is a little better because of SANTI. But there is still much to be done, and we cannot do it without your support.

Join us in this journey of empowerment and transformation. Your contribution, big or small, can make a significant difference in completing our center, empowering more women, and providing better facilities for our children. It's not just a building or a training program; it's a step towards a brighter, more self-sufficient future for many.

As we move forward, we hold onto the belief that together, we can overcome challenges and build a community where everyone thrives. Every brick laid in our building, every stitch sewn by our women, and every smile on our children's faces is a testament to the power of collective effort and compassion.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Your support, encouragement, and belief in our cause fuel our mission. Let's continue to work together to make a lasting impact and create a legacy of hope, growth, and empowerment.

With heartfelt gratitude and optimism,

Ashok Dandpat
Founder, SANTI Child Care Center

Together, let's build a future where every child learns, every woman empowers herself, and every community flourishes. Join us in making this vision a reality.

Quarterly Report for SANTI Organization Rajgangpur, Odisha

Hello Friends hope you are doing fantastic.

https://www.globalgiving.org/donate/13699/santi-social-association-for-nourishment-training-and-i/

For 11 years, SANTI has dedicated its efforts to support the housing, food, education, and health of orphaned children in Rajgangpur, Odisha.

As we reflect on the progress made in the last quarter, we're filled with gratitude and pride. We're sharing this report, inviting you to join our mission and consider supporting our cause.

New Additions to the SANTI Family:
This quarter has been marked by hope and new beginnings as we welcomed six wonderful children into our Child Care Centre (CCC). Each child, with their unique stories and dreams, now has the chance to thrive and achieve great heights under the care of SANTI.

Cultural Embrace: Raja Mahotsav 2023:
One of the highlights of this quarter was the joyous celebration of the popular Odia festival - Raja Mahotsav. On 14th June 2023, our premises echoed with laughter, joy, and the spirit of cultural heritage. Such celebrations play a pivotal role in instilling cultural values and creating cherished memories for our children.

Ensuring Health and Wellness:
The well-being of our children remains a top priority. We're pleased to report that regular health check-ups have been conducted, and all our children are in good health. Their smiles and active participation in daily activities stand testament to their physical and emotional wellness.

Education and Beyond:
Academic prowess is essential, and we're thrilled to observe our children's dedication to their studies. But it's not all work and no play at SANTI. This quarter, we've seen a growing interest among our children in the arts, especially dance and yoga. Such extra-curricular activities play a crucial role in holistic development, and we're keen to nurture these talents further.

A Call to Action:
The strides we make are possible due to the unwavering support from our community and well-wishers. As we move forward, we aim to expand our impact and touch more lives. We invite you to join our mission - whether it's through donations, volunteering, or simply spreading the word.

Empowering SHG Leaders:
With the support of Dalmia Cement Bharat Ltd (DCBL) in Rajgangpur, we organized our 10th batch of Micro Enterprises Development Training for Self Help Group (SHG) leaders. A total of 30 beneficiaries from each WSHG, including the president and secretary, were part of this transformative initiative. Each of the 150 SHGs that participated received a steel box, a darry, a register, and a banner courtesy of DCBL.

Promoting Health and Hygiene:
Health is wealth, and with this in mind, we organized an awareness program titled SWATCHHATA PAKWADA 2023. Hosted at Rajgangpur's Community Health Centre and facilitated by Dr. U.C. Toppo, this event saw participation from ASHA workers, ANM, AWW, NGO volunteers, and various health activists. Together, we shared and discussed best practices to promote health and hygiene in our communities.

Skilling and Employment:
We are proud to announce that we successfully completed the stitching of uniforms for 300 staff members of DCBL, providing each individual with 2 pairs. This not only provided employment opportunities for our women but also showcased the skills they've honed. Meanwhile, our second batch of tailoring training is ongoing, and the enthusiasm we see is truly heartwarming.

Construction Delays:
The SANTI Child Care Center, envisioned as a hub for SANTI's children and various non-profit community initiatives, is currently facing construction delays. The primary reason for this halt is a shortfall in our funding. The center, once operational, will not only cater to the holistic development of SANTI children but will also serve as a community center, fostering social cohesion, shared learning, and mutual growth. Realizing this vision requires not just brick and mortar but also the collective commitment of individuals who believe in creating lasting change. Your support, in any form, will go a long way in making this dream a reality.

Your support can transform lives and gift these children and women a brighter, more promising tomorrow.
Join us. Support SANTI. Brighten a child's future.

It was a humbling experience for me to witness SANTI's progress in the past decade with your support. At the conclusion of 2022, I took a moment to reflect on our accomplishments and was filled with emotion at the tremendous impact we had made for all the kids associated with SANTI.

I was delighted to spend this double festive season—Christmas and New Year 2022–2023—together with the SANTI children and my family. It filled my heart with joy to witness their celebrations.

On January 26th, Republic Day and Saraswati Puja were observed by the children at the school premises. The children danced to a traditional Sambalpuri song.

To ensure our children's well-being, health screenings were conducted regularly to check for any potential illnesses or conditions. Fortunately, the results showed that they are in a good state of health.

On March 8th, our CCC youngsters celebrated the joyous Holi festival of color. You can see some colorful pictures.

On December 12, 2022, Tapan Kumar Pradhan, Project Director of the District National Child Labour Project (NCLP), organised a staff gathering at our SANTI Training Centre to discuss the looming closure of the NCLP Project in June 2022.

On the 23rd December 2022, the 2nd meeting of Sundargarh district NCLP staff Association was led by Mr. Tapan Kumar Pradhan (Project Director) and Mr. Shiv Narayan Parija (Assistant Manager CSR, Dalmia Cement ). They discussed their engagement plan to hire 25 new staff in the department of mass education and hold training sessions in our SANTI building.

The 15th January 2023 marked the start of a new tailoring training program, with a duration of 6 months. After 45 days, WSHG members had already completed 50 pairs of pants and shirts uniforms to be used by Dalmia Cement Bharat Limited.

During this quarter, the construction of the boundary wall and main gate were completed.

Thank you for your continued support,
Ashok Dandpat
