సముద్రంలోకి ఎన్ని నీళ్ళు చేరినా సముద్రం ఎలా ప్రశాంతంగా,గంభీరంగా చెలియలికట్ట దాటకుండా ఉంటుందో అలానే స్థితప్రజ్ఞుడు తనలోకి ఎన్ని కోరికలు వచ్చినా ప్రశాంతంగా ఉంటాడు.అహంకారాన్ని,కోరికలను వదిలి ప్రశాంతంగా ఉండే ఇటువంటి స్థితిని బ్రాహ్మిస్థితి అంటారు.ఈ స్థితిని ఎవరైతే జీవించిఉండగానే పొందగలడో అతడే బ్రహ్మనిర్వాణపదాన్ని పొందుతాడు.
