Good morning dear child of God,
below are some bible verses weave together a powerful message about the true heart of faith: that **our love for God is best measured by our compassion for people.**
Whether in the wisdom of the Proverbs, the warnings of the Prophets, or the direct teaching of Jesus, a consistent theme emerges—righteousness is not merely a private or spiritual state, but a public and practical one. When we share our food with the hungry, provide clothing for the naked, or offer hospitality to the stranger, we are not just performing a civic duty; we are engaging in an act of worship.
Jesus makes the stakes incredibly clear in Matthew 25: **how we treat the "least of these" is exactly how we treat Him.** True "goodness" isn't found in what we accumulate, but in what we distribute.
As you reflect on these passages, let this be the finishing thought: **Generosity is the visible evidence of an invisible faith.** When we reach out to help those in need, we become the hands and feet of God, turning the "darkness" of someone else’s struggle into the "noon-day light" of hope. Let us not just be people who hear the Word, but people who live it out through eager hospitality and a heart that sees every person as someone created and loved by the Lord.
**Psalm 112:9**
"They share freely and give generously to those in need. Their good deeds will be remembered forever. They will have influence and honor."
**Proverbs 22:1**
"Choose a good reputation over great riches; being held in high esteem is better than silver or gold."
**Proverbs 22:2**
"The rich and poor have this in common: The Lord made them both."
**Proverbs 22:9**
"Blessed are those who are generous, because they feed the poor."
**Isaiah 58:7**
"Share your food with the hungry, and give shelter to the homeless. Give clothes to those who need them, and do not hide from relatives who need your help."
**Isaiah 58:10**
"Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon."
**Matthew 25:36–45**
**36:** "I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you visited me. I was in prison, and you came to me."
**37:** "Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink?"
**38:** "Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing?"
**39:** "When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’"
**40:** "And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’"
**41:** "Then the King will turn to those on the left and say, ‘Away with you, you cursed ones, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his demons."
**42:** "For I was hungry, and you didn’t feed me. I was thirsty, and you didn’t give me a drink."
**43:** "I was a stranger, and you didn’t invite me into your home. I was naked, and you didn’t give me clothing. I was sick and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.’"
**44:** "Then they will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and not help you?’"
**45:** "And he will answer, ‘I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.’"
**Romans 12:13**
"When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality."
