Floods don’t just affect people.

Thousands of stray animals are left stranded, hungry, injured, and terrified with no safe place to go.

If you come across an animal during a flood, here’s how you can help:

• Never ignore an animal struggling in the water. Call local rescuers or safely assist if possible.

• Leave clean drinking water and food in elevated, accessible places.

• If an animal is trapped, avoid forcing it. Stay calm and seek professional help if needed.

• Keep your gates, garages, or sheltered spaces open if it’s safe. A dry corner can save a life.

• Share verified rescue helplines and report animals that need urgent assistance.

A small act of kindness during a disaster can become someone’s second chance at life.

She was beaten so badly, she lost vision in one eye completely.

The other eye isn’t doing much better it’s clouded, bleeding, barely functional. She walks into things. She struggles to eat. The world around her is just a blur of shapes she can’t fully make sense of.

And yet, she trusts the one person who stopped to help her.🥺

In this video, her rescuer tells her story in his own words no script, no exaggeration. Just the truth of what he found, and what he decided to do about it.

Animals like her don’t get to ask for help. Someone has to choose to give it.
