Astitva Foundation, Chhattisgarh brought its Backpack Initiative to the Government Middle and Primary Schools in Kurra village, Tilda block . Children cheered with joy as they received their new backpacks, some hugging them tightly, others covering their with the original plastic due to ongoing monsoons, and many immediately trying them on and comparing with their friends. For a moment, the schoolyard turned into a celebration.

The initiative is more than logistical support. It is an investment in and opportunity. A school bag improves attendance, encourages organization, and strengthens a student's confidence. Most importantly, learning transforms when the invisible barriers of disparity are addressed.

When a child feels valued and equipped, they walk into the classroom ready to learn, dream, and grow.

At the Government School in Khandsara village, Bemetara district of , paucity of steel plates was quietly costing children their time. They didn't have enough plates and glasses to match their student strength. So, the mid-day meal had to be served in shifts; one batch would eat while the next waited, utensils were washed and cleaned in between, and only then could the following group sit down. A meal break that should have taken 25 minutes stretched on beyond an hour, eating steadily into classroom hours.

Astitva Foundation, Chhattisgarh stepped in to close that gap. Under its Equality on the Plate initiative, the foundation donated a fresh set of steel plates and glasses to the , enough for every child to eat a hygienic meal together without waiting for someone else's plate to become available.

The change is simple, but the impact runs deeper than mealtime convenience. With no more extended lunchtime, students get back the time that used to disappear from their study time - a gain that shows up in better year-end results, with more students passing and securing a first division.

on the Plate is about every child having access to basic necessities and equal access to resources, bringing students to the same level playing field as their urban counterparts.
