For many students, it was their first real interaction with this kind of technology.

The energy, curiosity, and questions in the room made it clear how powerful early exposure to innovation can be. Along with technical learning, trainers also took time to talk about career opportunities in fields.

As this season’s final spotlight for Astitva Foundation, Chhattisgarh, the story of Pinki Yadav offers a glimpse into what happens when targeted outreach meets sustained .

When Anupam M. Diwan visited a village, she brought with her awareness paired with opportunity. For the first time, a young encountered someone she describes as a figure of remarkable presence and , speaking directly to rural about education, dignity, and financial independence. That moment became a turning point. It planted the belief that education can reshape the future.

What followed was a steady .

Through consistent engagement with the foundation’s work, Pinki continued her and became part of the self-reliance initiative. The first time she went out for a product delivery, fear and hesitation followed her every step. Yet that experience ended differently, as she signed the bill book and felt a deep sense of achievement. It was no longer just work; it was ownership of her own progress.

But perhaps the most powerful outcome is more than personal; it is collective. Her family, once cautious about her independence, now sees her with pride. And her hope has expanded beyond herself. She wishes that every girl in her could experience the same , the same confidence, and the same freedom that she found through .

We continue to work where change matters most - at the , where a single moment of can reshape an entire future.

There’s a version of Ritu Nirmalkar many people would never recognize today - the young who stayed quiet in rooms, depended on her family to fund her , and felt her opportunities were shaped by circumstance. Then came a turning point.

When Ritu crossed paths with Astitva Foundation, Chhattisgarh, what followed was a recalibration. Through the Foundation's and self-reliance initiatives, she encountered something she hadn't been offered before: a structured program to shape her .

What strikes us most about Ritu's journey is the architecture of a new self she has quietly built. The shy girl who once shrank from conversations began to lean into them. The student who waited to be spoken to started speaking up. The daughter who depended on her family for expenses became the woman who pays her own way. None of this happened by chance.

Her family, once her safety net, now turns to her for counsel. Her , once her backdrop, now watches her with admiration. Young girls approach her with and hope, wanting to know how she got here. And every time, Ritu points them back to the Foundation that gave her the tools, and Anupam Diwan Ma'am, who made her believe in her worth.

That is the compounding effect creates. One woman finds her footing and becomes solid ground for others. Today, we celebrate her. Read Ritu Nirmalkar’s story in her own words, shared on the post.

Through , , and a that invested in her potential, she didn't just find income, she found herself. She learned to stand in her own authority. To speak with confidence and start claiming the life she had always been capable of living.

Dependence had quietly become the background noise of her ambition. Today, she no longer asks permission to exist in spaces that were always meant for her. Growing up in areas, the path ahead for most young looks narrow, shaped by expectations, limited by access, and occasionally of their own choosing. Chanchal knew that feeling well.

Four years ago, she walked through the doors of Astitva Foundation, Chhattisgarh, not knowing how profoundly her world was about to change. Joining the foundation wasn't just a decision about but a need for . The foundation met her exactly where she stood and then walked forward with her.

What followed was a real . Chanchal began earning under the Atmanirbharta project. Her income covered her expenses and gave her something harder to quantify - the knowledge that she could stand entirely on her own.

But growth, when it's genuine, turns outward. Chanchal became a advocate, using street plays to raise awareness of disease among families across villages. She didn't just receive , she extended it.

Today, Chanchal is funding her own and holding her head high with the quiet dignity of someone who built her life from the ground up. Her family beams with pride as she takes charge of her own future.

Chanchal's journey is one chapter in a bigger story that is writing about rural women who were never lacking in ability, only in access. This spotlight series exists to make sure these stories are told, celebrated, and heard far beyond the villages where they begin.

Chanchal Dhiwar's story, written in her own words, is featured in this post.

At Astitva Foundation, Chhattisgarh, we believe that the we work with deserve to be seen, heard, and celebrated, not just during International Women's Month. Hence, we are continuing our spotlight series this month, sharing the real, unfiltered stories of women from .

Meet Kanchan Nayak, whose journey is a leap from hesitation to self-reliance. What started as a step into the unknown has turned into a story of independence, confidence, and .

Through learning new , becoming , and supporting her own education, she has redefined what’s possible. Today, Kanchan stands strong and empowered, which she once thought was out of reach.

One of the most significant milestones for her was earning her very first income through our Atmanirbharta project, something she describes as deeply personal and meaningful. She chose to invest it in her college , breaking a dependence that had once felt inevitable.

She did not lack the ability, but no one had given her the space to find her identity. became that space where she was given access to , to a community of women who were all , together, that they were capable of far more than they realized. With the support of leaders like Anupam M. Diwan, Kanchan has transformed her circumstances and mindset, choosing growth, independence, and self-belief.

Five years ago, Kanchan knew very little about what she was capable of. Today, she is self-reliant, contributes to her family, and moves through the world with confidence and clarity.

Our next spotlight story is one of the most powerful transformations we have had the privilege of witnessing.

Meet Tanu Sahu, a woman who walked in hesitantly and walked out as a leader.

When Tanu joined Astitva Foundation, Chhattisgarh five years ago, she carried her potential quietly tucked behind a hesitation that kept her from fully stepping into the world. Conversations felt difficult. Rooms full of people felt overwhelming. It was not a flaw; it was simply how she was.

Through our program, Tanu found a growing belief in her own potential. Through the Atmanirbharta Project, she found work that gave her and the dignity that comes with it. Then came the to teach at her school, where she blossomed. She discovered a joy in teaching that she hadn't known before, and with every lesson she gave, her own grew a little more.

She didn't stop there. Tanu went on to learn block printing skills through Astitva Grameen Hastshilp, and when she was entrusted with the responsibility of managing the Kaushal Kendra (Center for Rural Women Empowerment), she rose to it. A woman who once hesitated to speak is now a manager, teacher, artisan, and an inspiration to all who look up to her.

What changed? She was given space. She was given trust. She was shown, again and again, that she was capable until she began to believe it herself.

This is Tanu Sahu today. Read her journey, from coy to confident, in her own words, featured in the image attached to this post.
