I ask Mother Nature—
When did we begin to harm you?
Perhaps it was the day when desire, anger, pride, greed, and selfishness began to occupy a greater place in our lives.
When selfishness grew, injustice and wrongdoing grew with it. And when human beings chose the path of service, compassion, truth, and self-restraint, the light of Dharma began to emerge.
Whether in India or anywhere else in the world, every age has seen people guided by both positive and negative intentions. Some have created different paths to serve their own interests and, at times, used religion, politics, caste, nationalism, or even law according to their own purposes.
In our ancient traditions, sages and thinkers shared messages of compassion toward nature, living beings, and humanity as a whole. But with time, human beings also created interpretations of Dharma according to their own interests.
Therefore, the question should not be directed at any particular religion or community.
The question should be directed toward our own consciousness.
We were given such a beautiful Earth—
yet we divided it by boundaries.
Nations were formed, borders were created, and then wars were fought over those very borders.
While speaking of peace, humanity also created and traded weapons.
So I ask—
Who divided human beings into castes?
Who divided God into different identities?
Who divided Mother Earth with borders?
And who, at times, turned even the law into a tool for personal interest?
Perhaps the problem is not religion itself,
but the human tendency to use religion as a means of serving selfish interests.
For me, Dharma does not mean proving one identity superior to another.
Dharma is that which leads a human being toward truth, compassion, self-restraint, service, justice, and coexistence.
Call the Supreme Being by any name you wish—
the ultimate truth is one.
Therefore, my question is not directed against any religion.
My question is directed toward human consciousness.
