"In an accident, the first responsibility is not to ask questions, but to save a life."
Today, at around 2:00 PM, while returning to Purulia via Ranchi Road near Sainik School, we noticed a crowd gathered on the opposite side of the road. Upon reaching the spot, we found that an accident had occurred between a four-wheeler and a toto (e-rickshaw). One of the passengers in the toto had suffered a serious leg injury.
Taking immediate initiative, we arranged for the injured person to be transported in the same four-wheeler involved in the accident and rushed him to Bardhan Hospital for primary medical treatment. Later, after Mr. Samar Mahato from Tamna Police Station arrived at the hospital, we informed him about the entire process and the assistance provided.
There is only one message we would like to share: if you come across a road accident victim, please do not let fear of legal procedures or police involvement stop you from helping. It is our collective responsibility as human beings to ensure that the injured person receives medical attention as quickly as possible.
The first and most important step is to get the victim to a hospital without delay. A timely act of kindness can save a life.
