Anglesey Soroptimists having a cheese and wine evening. We Soroptimists know how to enjoy ourselves and raise money at the same time. £330 raised for water aid and Môn search and Rescue.

We were honoured to visit to the Vishranti - meaning ‘Eternal Peace’ - Palliative Cancer Care Centre with our Friendship Link club Soroptimist International - Pune Metro East - India
We met the truly phenomenal Colonel Nyayapathi (Naati) the Founder & Director and his wonderful staff and he gave us a tour of the facilities.
For over 2 decades under his guidance the centre has been offering completely free state-of-the-art treatment and care to the very poorest and most underprivileged in society, providing a place of peace, love, comfort and support for cancer patients who have never experienced this and would otherwise be in pain, fear and often alone.
We spoke to every patient at their bedside in both day care and palliative care and gave them and their loved one a red rose🌹
Everyone we met had a smile on their face.
It was a humbling and extremely emotional experience.
We gave the hospice a contribution towards their valuable work on behalf of our club.

A visit to The Lilian School in Pune for deaf and mute children with Gwenda Parry as part of our ‘Gift of Friendship’ volunteer exchange programme with Soroptimist International - Pune Metro East - India.
What a wonderful academic environment, it was such a pleasure to meet the pupils there!
The students presented us with a handmade gift each and we donated stationary and other items to the school on behalf of our club.
We also had a tour of the facilities at the school, which caters for students from a large region, the majority of whom are boarders.

Tree planting for the Anandvan Urban Tree Project in Pune with Soroptimist International - Pune Metro East - India
We planted a Sacred fig Ficus religiosa on behalf of our club, known locally as ‘Peepal’ which will be nurtured and will grow as part of this vast urban forest.
We chose this tree for its ability to release oxygen both day and night, producing it 24 hours a day, unlike most plants that only produce oxygen during the day 🌱☀️
