🌼 Dignity is a Right, Not a Request.

Today, we met a leprosy-cured and physically disabled member of our community struggling to walk through uneven, damaged roads.
Despite beating a disease that once isolated him, he still fights a different battle β€” barriers created by society and poor infrastructure.

πŸ“ These conditions are not just an inconvenience β€”
They are a violation of mobility, dignity, and equal access.

πŸ§β€β™‚οΈ People affected by leprosy deserve respect, safe roads, and inclusive public spaces β€” not obstacles.

APYSA is committed to:
βœ… Ensuring mobility support
βœ… Raising voice for accessible infrastructure
βœ… Bringing dignity and opportunities to leprosy-cured families

Let us stand together to ensure no cured person continues to suffer because of stigma or ignored rights.

πŸ™ Support. Share. Stand for Inclusion.

🌍 Standing for Dignity, Rights, and Justice 🌍

At Apanga Leprosy Punarvasan Va Yuvak Sangathan Antulenagar (APYSA), we believe that every person β€” including those affected by leprosy and disabilities β€” deserves equal access to basic human rights, dignity, and a life free from stigma.

Recently, our community in Antulenagar has been struggling with serious electricity supply issues. Families, many of whom are already vulnerable, face darkness at night, lack of water due to non-functioning pumps, and everyday hardships. These challenges are not just about infrastructure β€” they are about human rights and the right to live with dignity.

As an NGO, we are committed to:
βœ… Raising our collective voice against injustice
βœ… Advocating with government departments for urgent solutions
βœ… Ensuring that the voices of leprosy-affected persons and their families are heard and respected

We stand firm: Leprosy-affected people are humans first. Their rights are human rights. ✊

We call on authorities, citizens, and well-wishers to support us in this journey of justice and equality. Together, we can create a future where no one is left behind. πŸ’š

Namaskar from India!

Right now in India, especially here in Maharashtra, we are celebrating the grand festival of Ganeshotsav. For 10 days, people all across the state come together with joy and devotion, visiting homes and community celebrations.

In our leprosy community too, we celebrate Ganeshotsav every year. But this year, we decided to make it a little different. Along with the joy of the festival, we also wanted to spread awareness about leprosyβ€”to clear misconceptions and provide correct information, so that stigma reduces and people affected by leprosy are accepted with dignity.

For this, we put up a large awareness banner at the entrance of our celebration and even organized small competitions. One of them is β€œSelfie with Ganapati Bappa”, where along with the selfie, people also receive and share facts about leprosy. In this way, awareness spreads in a natural and engaging manner.

Whatever we learn from leprosy forums and ILC, we are determined to implement in our community in simple, practical ways. We don’t always know which strategy will work best, but we believe that every small step towards awareness is valuable.

Because 2030 is coming closer, and if we want to achieve a world without leprosy, then we all need to put in our collective effort with full strength and unity.

Thank you! πŸ™
