40 years. One untreated wound. One quiet ask: “just let me be treated.”

Today our outreach team found an elderly leprosy-affected man in Pune carrying exactly that — and exactly that request. No family. No money. No safety net.

APYSA is acting now to get him admitted and treated. We’re asking our community to help cover hospital admission, medicines, transport, and nutrition during recovery.

This is the daily reality for many elderly leprosy-affected persons in Pune’s colonies — not an isolated story.

An elderly man, affected by leprosy, has lived with an untreated wound on his leg for nearly 40 years. Today, our APYSA outreach team found him outside a building in Pune — weak, in pain, with no family and no resources for treatment.

He asked for only one thing: a chance to be properly treated.

A wound left open for decades, with ongoing discharge, carries real risk of worsening infection. At his age, hospital admission, proper wound care, and basic nutrition are urgent — not optional.

We are moving to get him assessed and admitted today. Here's how you can help us cover what comes next:
