Heritage !!! the word attracts lots of us. Most of us are very much enthusiastic when we come across any event or activity related to it, be it a walk, a workshop or treasure hunt. We attend a lot of them. But then it stops there. The reason could be anything. Time constraints, lack of resources Or I want to do something but don’t know how or where. Many of us have that feeling inside us, all of u
s want to contribute something but don’t know the means, how, where. There is no taking forward our one-time participation to such events, there is not culmination. Doing something for society is a big thing. First, we need to do something for us. Before making others aware we need be aware ourselves. Hence self-awareness is first step. Lectures, Work Shops could sometimes become to technical or skill oriented. There must be a casual yet organized way of getting together for heritage. Therefore, we are forming the Heritage Club. The concept is very simple, bringing like-minded people, people who want to do something for heritage or just interested in heritage and gain some knowledge together. The word heritage covers many things, built heritage, art, culture, tourism, natural heritage etc. The club will have activities covering all these areas. Also since sometimes heritage could become too technical or domain oriented, the club will not go too much into detail of subjects. The activities of the club will be decided by the members. Once club is formed to make a bit organized members will be given roles and responsibilities. The club will have regular fortnightly meetings; hence members will feel engaged all the time. Meetings of the Heritage Club will be Every alternate Friday evening 6:00 PM at Intach Pune Office. (Kirloskar Kisan Compound, behind Mrutyunjayeshwar mandir, off Karve Road, Kothrud.)
Every meeting will have some program which could be a casual discussion, lecture, presentation, screening or anything that members want to do within domain of heritage.)
There will be Annual membership fee for Heritage Club, which will be Nominal Rs 500/-
(This is basically to take care of sundry expenses and logistics. Some events like tours could be charged separately)
Initially Intach Pune chapter will organize the programs for meeting, once a regular members core group is established, committees will be formed and members will decide the meetings and programs and activities. All regular meeting activities will be free for members.
