We will be the change we want to see." In our rush to globalize rampantly we actually have forgotten how fresh it feels to wake up in the wee hours in the morning and feel the Zephyr where on the other hand we go through the hot humid temperature which changes drastically and all we do is crib about it. But have we ever raised a question Why or Who to ourselves or thought of changing it? With each
passing day, it is becoming increasingly clear that the strategy of environmental exploitation that characterized the 20th century is reaching the end of its natural life. We are in the early stages of a transition from an attitude that, 'treats the Earth like a business in liquidation' to one that is committed to preserving the planet's 'natural capital.' The principle underlying this shift is really quite simple: if we want a high quality of life for ourselves and future generations - a high quality of life in all its senses - we cannot continue to degrade the quality of the natural systems of which we are a part. We at Symbiosis Center for Information Technology have realized that to see change we have to initiate the change. We must do what we conceive to be right and not bother our heads or burden our souls with whether we'll be successful. Because if we don't do the right thing, we'll do the wrong thing and we'll be part of the disease and not part of the cure. "We will be the change we want to see" was the thought that spurred the young students at Symbiosis Centre for Information Technology (SCIT) to think about their duties for Mother Earth and thus was born the Student Social Responsibility (SSR) committee. Creating environmental awareness and promoting environment friendliness among people was the main ingredient that went into building SSR committee by the MBA 2009 - 11 batches. SSR aims to improve the social awareness among bright minds that also are academic all-rounder. In spite of their hectic schedule these MBA aspirants have a strong determination to resolve and give back to the society thus bringing in enthusiastic participation in SSR. It contributes towards the betterment of lesser privileged children and to their upliftment by organizing fund raisers. SCIT SSR aims to highlight, celebrate and inspire thought conscious youth into understanding their social responsibility and create a natural revolution to protect Mother Earth and be a part of a vision that seeks a better planet for tomorrow!
