MAITRI

MAITRI MAITRI is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization based in Pune, India. Apart from work in Melghat, Maitri also works in natural disasters.

MAITRI's main strength is the volunteers from all over the world who contribute not only financially but also give their time and skills towards social cause. MAITRI stated its activities in 1997 with the aim of eradicating malnutrition from Melghat (remote forest region in Amaravati district of Maharashtra). Since then, Maitri volunteers are continually working for betterment of Korku tribals in

Melghat. MAITRI is registered as a Public Trust in 1999 under the Public Trust Act. The trust acts as a custodian and umbrella support for all the activities in terms of help to raise and manage funds, training, building awareness, administration and general management of the resources. But the real drive and force of MAITRI is its VOLUNTEERS who provide the distinct character to the organization.
