*Annapurna Pariwar – 33 Years of Women Empowerment*
On 11 July 2026, Annapurna Pariwar proudly celebrated its 33rd Foundation Day, marking over three decades of empowering poor employed women and their families in 650 slums of Pune and 1200 slums of Mumbai.
The journey began in 1993 from a modest 8 × 8-foot room beneath the residence of Dr. Medha Purao Samant in Gopinath Nagar, Pune. With limited resources and no tables or chairs, a vision of economic and social empowerment took shape.
Today, the organization operates from its 30,000 sq. ft. headquarters, Suvastu Prestige, in Warje, Pune, along with its 5,000 sq. ft. Regional Office in the Vashi Commercial Complex, Navi Mumbai.
What started by supporting nine women vegetable vendors has grown into a professionally managed group of six sister organizations, serving 1.25 lakh shareholder members through 18 branches, with 300+ employees, 2.5 lakh insured members, 9 Day Care Centres, and the Vidyapurna Scholarship Programme, which supports 1,000 students every year.
Today, Annapurna Pariwar stands as a powerful symbol of sustainable women's empowerment, financial inclusion, and community development—transforming lives.
