The first day of a new school is rarely neat or predictable. It's messy, emotional and unforgettable. One of our Lead Teachers, Wrivu Sanyal, took a moment to write down what Day 1 at NMMC 91 Primary felt like. We couldn't have said it better ourselves. ❤️
Routines, rigorous classrooms, student agency and voice... that's what most days look like for me as a Lead Teacher at NMMC 91 Secondary.
But this Tuesday was different.
It was the very first day of NMMC 91 Primary.
There was chaos. There was excitement. There was endless energy. It was a day fuelled entirely by adrenaline.
It was also one of the most tiring - and one of the most inspiring - days I've experienced in a long time.
The kind of day that gives you enough energy to get through a hundred difficult ones.
At one point, our students were sharing what they already knew about iTeach. Many of them have older siblings in our secondary school, so they had plenty to say.
Then one seven-year-old quietly summed it up:
"Bohot padhai hoti hai... aur bacchon ko nahi marte."
There couldn't have been a more powerful reminder of why this work matters.
Heartbreaking, because that was what stood out to a seven-year-old.
Hopeful, because even before stepping into our classrooms, they already knew that learning here comes with care.
By the end of the day, it felt like the simplest and most honest description of what we're trying to build:
Rigorous classrooms, filled with love.
What more could you ask for in a day's work?
As NMMC 91 Primary begins its journey, we're looking for educators who want to build this school from the very beginning.
If you're excited by the opportunity to shape a school, lead with purpose alongside Sneha Shetty, and create classrooms where children are challenged and deeply cared for, we'd love to hear from you.
We're currently hiring a Vice Principal and Lead Teacher for NMMC 91 Primary.
