ABOUT -
Sarthak Seva Sangh is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization, founded in 2009 by Dr. Anil Kudia at Ambale village near Saswad in tehsil Purandar of district Pune.
‘Sarthak’ is a shelter cm rehabilitation center for destitute, deprived & needy children. At present Sarthak shelters 45 children (34 boys & 11 girls). Sarthak does not only provides a shelter for homeless children but
it aims at empowering them to live with hope and dignity. THE BEGINNING -
In cities, many children residing at roadsides grow, begging in square, sorting things from public garbage bins or stealing small things. These children then often easily enter the criminal world; sometimes due to the addictions, they end their lives at young age. Others somehow survive and procreate the next generation that is equally cursed. We often see them. We sympathize, take pity at their misfortune. We actually want to do something for them; but we can’t do anything for them alone. Some such sensitive individuals came together to form ‘Sarthak’ and with the help and inspiration of some generous people ‘Sarthak’ started its journey in June 2009. CORE PHILOSOPHY -
A rehabilitation center for vulnerable street children between the age of 4-18. Sarthak is taken up the noble cause of providing these children with a wholesome life that’s safe and nurturing, away from the trauma that they are used to face every day. VISION -
Works as a catalyst or agent to bring sustainable change in the lives of underprivileged children with an approach of development. MISSION -

APPROACH -
'Sarthak' believes that education is both the means as well as the end to a better life: the means because it empowers an individual to earn his/her livelihood and the end because it increases one's awareness on a range of issues - from healthcare to appropriate social behavior to understanding one's rights - and in the process help him/her evolve as a better citizen. Education is the most effective tool which helps children build a strong foundation; enabling them to free themselves from the vicious cycle of ignorance, poverty and disease. Education for children can bring long lasting change in the society
FUTURE ACTIVITIES -
- To set up technical training centers for the educational and vocational training of children for the overall development of children
- Establishing sports academy for such unemployed, weak and needy children
- To start a computer training center for needy children
- To start library with all kind of books to increase reading habit in these students. Remember ‘Sarthak’ whenever you see a child who is being forced to beg near a traffic signal! HOW TO REACH -
By Train
Ambale is the 6th station from Pune on Pune-Satara-Kolhapur route. Passenger train daily 9 am and 5 pm
By Public Vehicle
Pune to Saswad MSRTC buses are available from Swargate & Pune station. From Saswad, Yawat or Malshiras buses are available every hour. By Private Vehicle
