A morning where nature became the classroom. 🌿

As part of the Wipro Earthian Initiative, students from different schools explored the biodiversity of Mahatma Tekdi through a guided Nature Discovery Walk, facilitated by ESF and led by Priya Mandavkar from the Ecological Society.

From observing native plants, birds and insects to sharing projects and exchanging ideas, the experience helped students connect their learning with the world around them.

As part of Nature Conservation Week under the Wipro Earthian Initiative, ESF and Sagarmitra Foundation conducted an interactive session at NMV High School, Pune.

Around 80 students and teachers explored the connection between plastic waste, oceans and climate change. Grade 9 Wipro Earthian students also shared their waste management work, leading to a proposed monthly plastic collection and recycling initiative with Sagarmitra.

Some lessons are best learnt under an open sky.

On the occasion of World Nature Conservation Day, students from Wipro Earthian schools stepped beyond the classroom and into the rich biodiversity of Mahatma Tekdi for a Nature Discovery Walk, facilitated by EcoSan Services Foundation (ESF) under the Wipro Earthian Initiative.

Guided by Priya Mandavkar from the Ecological Society, students explored native flora and fauna, observed how ecosystems thrive during the monsoon, and connected their classroom learnings on Water, Waste, and Biodiversity with the natural world around them.

The experience also became a platform for students from different schools to exchange ideas, share their ongoing Wipro Earthian projects, interact with environmental experts, and learn from one another.

Because when students experience nature firsthand, they don't just learn about conservation—they begin to understand why it matters.

Through Information, Education & Communication (IEC) sessions, students learn the importance of safe sanitation, personal hygiene, water conservation, menstrual hygiene management, and shared responsibility towards maintaining clean school environments.

Every successful community initiative starts with a team that understands both the purpose and the people it serves.

As PARMM enters its next phase, field team members came together for an orientation to strengthen their understanding of the project, their roles, and effective ways to engage with communities.

Building on the learnings from the previous phase, the team is now preparing to expand outreach across new locations while also revisiting existing communities to understand the impact created and gather valuable feedback.

Here's to another phase of learning, collaboration, and meaningful community engagement.
