🌿URVEE_Anubhav🌿 Hands-on with Timber.
As a part of Gram Abhiyan, students get to work hands-on with the eco-friendly construction materials. On 1st April 2026, a hands-on training was conducted at Vishwakarma University School of Architecture and planning, in which the students crafted various timber joineries.
Our experienced and versatile carpenter - Mr. Suresh conducted this workshop. Students were fortunate to get such valuable guidance from an artisan!

URVEE Setu : Settlement study
As a part of Gram Abhiyan, on 13th March 2026 we started with a settlement study camp at Pargaon Tarf Khed village in Ambegaon Taluka, Pune.
In collaboration with BNCA, the students of F.Y. B.Arch documented the traditional vernacular structures, conducted need assessment surveys, did village mapping and also presented a Design Proposal!.....All in 3 Days! ✨
They got to observe and analyse the grassroot level realities. They experienced and participated in cultural activities like Legime, Keertan, Saptah.
The faculty co-ordinators were Ar. Dhruv, Ar. Aparna, Ar. Shweta, Ar. Deepti and Ar. Sayali.
The students worked with great dedication and sincerity!

URVEE_Setu | Settlement Study at Tekawadi 🌿📐

In collaboration with the *School of Architecture and Planning, Vishwakarma University, Pune*, URVEE conducted a settlement study in **Tekawadi village, Khed Taluka (Pune district)**. The residential camp was held from **29th to 31st January**.

Through this immersive experience, first-year architecture students engaged directly with the village context and carried out:

• Measured drawings of vernacular houses
• Study of materials and construction techniques used in mud houses
• Need-assessment surveys with villagers
• Interviews with local contractors regarding materials and labour rates
• Identification of potential sites for a live project proposal
• Site measurements and contextual analysis
• Interaction with the **Sarpanch** to discuss observations, village needs, and possible design interventions

The aim of **URVEE_Setu** is to bridge academia and rural communities by documenting traditional architecture and exploring sustainable design solutions rooted in the local context.

Rural housing project at Baramati.

URVEE team recently conducted a Time Problem with the Fourth year students of Vidya Pratishthan's School of Architecture and BNCA, Pune. As a part of their elective the students worked on construction details of a rural housing project. We resolved various construction details like foundation, wall, roof connections, finishes and services.
Students chose the material technology based on the parameters like vernacular techniques in the village, affordability, user comfort, cost and environmental impact.

It was a wonderful session with healthy debates and discussions.

Looking forward to more such sessions with architecture students.

Hands-on workshop at VIT, Kondhwa.

This workshop was curated for the First year students with due consideration of the upgraded syllabus. Now that mud, bamboo construction has been integrated in the F.Y.B.Arch curriculum it has become all the more important to provide students with a platform where they can work with these materials.

We appreciate the initiative taken by Vishwakarma University School of architecture. In this three day workshop students got to explore various materials and technologies like brick arches, brick jaali wall, wattle and daub wall, adobe, mud mortar, cement mortar and pointing.

All the work seen in the video is done by the students. There was no helper or mason on-site. The patience and determination the students showed was commendable. Great efforts 💯.

'Housing in villages- Current scenario', session conducted by Ar. Amruta for the Fourth year students of Vidya Pratishthan's School of Architecture, Baramati on 26th August 2025.

The session was based on the Gaav Bhraman research program which included the comparative study of vernacular houses Vs Gharkul houses. The heart wrenching experiences of the beneficiaries were eye-openers for the students. We brainstormed about the concept of sustainable architecture, vernacular techniques and materials and the need to streamline this practice.
We truly appreciate VP, Baramati for organising this session and collaborating with URVEE for a social cause.
