Smile - Pune's Handicraft Store We at SMILE aim to empower women and build a community that is self-sufficient. This quaint store is located in the historic precincts of Vishrambaug wada.

Explore our store for a melange of contemporary, ethnic, handcrafted, sustainable and ethically sourced products made by local women artisans and entrepreneurs. If you are looking for handicrafts from Pune, then this is the treasure house for you. Handcrafted items include an array of bags, jewellery boxes, pouches, mobile pouches, photo frames, batwas, warli art, soft toys, vanity case, folders, file made out of ‘khaan fabric’, ‘batwas’ smart bags, pouches, artefacts like gift boxes, soft toys, photoframes. All these items are hancrafted by budding women entrepreneurs. Another section provides Ayurvedic hair oils, aromatic herbal body scrub called ‘utna’, attar that are pure and organic. SMILE intends to start a full fledged organic section soon.

Presented the story of Smile - Pune's Handicraft Store - at the Annual Summit titled "Reframe 2026" - on the theme "Reimagining India's Future : Equal Participation of Women in the Work Force". was an honour to be a part of the program's Inaugural Plenary - "India's Future Depends on women's Economic Participation" - with Dr. Fauzia Khan and Dr. REnu Swaroop and Mr. anand singh - organised by and , both organisations working for the cause of women, in New Delhi at the India International Centre (IIC), New Delhi on the 8th September 2026.
Attaching also my speech about the success story of SMILE and what challenges women have which need to be addressed in future.
