The Stakeholders’ Consultation “Social Inclusion of Waste Workers under and ”, concluded on 9th April, in , was envisioned as a significant platform to bring together diverse voices and perspectives to strengthen the implementation of the Utthaan an initiative of and . As the project continues to engage with at the grassroots, it became essential to create a space for dialogue, reflection, and alignment among key stakeholders including government representatives, domain experts, partner organisations, and community leaders.
The consultation aimed to review progress, identify on-ground challenges, and collectively explore pathways to enhance the effectiveness and reach of the initiative, particularly in the areas of social protection, health, and dignified livelihoods for waste workers. It also served as an opportunity to deepen understanding of local needs and ensure that interventions remain responsive and inclusive.
The discussion concluded on a strong note of collaboration, with valuable insights, shared experiences, and actionable recommendations emerging from participants across sectors. The coming together of such diverse expertise reaffirmed a shared commitment to building sustainable systems of support for Safai Mitras, and laid a clear, collective pathway for the way forward.
