The journey of .0 has officially begun! 🌍

With 80+ schools participating in Pune Climate Warriors 5.0, the journey began with our Teachers’ Orientation Program, where educators from 50+ schools across Pune came together to kick-start a year of climate action.

✨ Here’s what made the day special:

Adv. Divya Chavan Jachak welcomed participants and shared the vision of Pune Climate Warriors as a movement where schools come together to create climate-conscious, responsible and future-ready citizens.

Key Note Address: Adv. Vandana Chavan reminded us that while global climate commitments matter, real change begins in our classrooms, communities and neighbourhoods.

NEP- Education for the future & Collaboration : Ms. Malti Kalmadi spoke about the spirit of NEP 2020, encouraging schools to embrace experiential, joyful, collaborative learning and focusing to inspire young minds.

Building Resilience and Preparedness: Mr. Ganesh Sonune, Joint Municipal Commissioner & Head of the Disaster Management Cell, highlighted the importance of disaster preparedness and first Aid, while experts from the Centre for Mental Health Law & Policy (CMHLP) shared insights on climate resilience and mental well-being.

Mr. Anand Chordia, Founder of The Eco Factory Foundation, inspired schools to see sustainability as an opportunity for innovation, entrepreneurship and hands-on learning.

The programme concluded with a shared commitment to make climate education a lived experience for every child.

A special thank you to all our Speakers- Mentors, Trustees- Ms. Vrishali Dabholkar, Ms. Radhika Naikawadi, our Pune Climate Warriors team, volunteers, and every teacher who joined us to make the launch of .0 truly meaningful.

This World Environment Day, let’s give back to nature.

We are delighted to collaborate with the Eco Factory Foundation for the Vrikshadaan Abhiyan, an initiative promoting the plantation of native tree species and greener communities.

🌿 Native tree saplings are now available at SMILE Pune Handicraft Store.

Every tree planted is a step towards:
✅ Cleaner air
✅ Richer biodiversity
✅ Cooler cities
✅ A healthier future for generations to come

A tree gives so much while asking for so little. This Environment Day, let’s make a simple commitment—to plant, protect, and nurture nature.

What began as classroom learning transformed into powerful conversations, thoughtful exhibits, and young minds leading the way on climate action. The school pavilion wasn’t just a space for display — it was a space for curiosity, awareness, and hope.

What began as an idea came alive with conversations, colours, and a collective intent towards climate action and caring for our planet.

The inauguration wasn’t just about opening a festival — it was about opening minds, hearts, and spaces for learning, reflection, and action.

Grateful for everyone who came together, believed in the vision, and helped set the tone for two meaningful days.
